16 Years Old Male, need to get rid of belly/thigh fat

Hi. I'm 16 years old, about 5'10, and weigh about 170lbs. I consider myself athletic, as I run track and play tennis. The problem is, I have a below average diet and am a bit lazy sometimes. I have excess thigh and belly fat because of that now. I dont know how to get rid of it. I try eating healthy, but I dont get full and overeat. How can I lose this weight?

motivation and dedication. get moving, not necessarily doing a routine, but take up a more active lifestyle. Play tennis twice as much. Jog. Walk around more. I advocate horseplay for weight loss. Don't eat anything fried and don't drink any non - diet sodas.

I only drink water, and occasionally juice. Crosscountry begins today, so hopefully that will keep me active as well. Perhaps doing 50 or so pushups and situps twice a day would help out?

You have to stop being lazy if you want to lose that fat. The running is good but you need more than that. The pushups and situps are a good start but you need more weight training, whether it is with weights, or just your own bodyweight.

If your looking to loose weight in your stomach and thighs doing situps isn't going to help. Your going to have a killer set of abs sitting underneath the excess fat on your stomach and a big chest from all those pushups. Loosing weight on in "fat storage areas" is going to need you to see a holistic approach your going to have to watch what you eat and also get a bit more mobile. Instead of sitting on the couch for the the arvo go for a walk, help your parents mow the lawn etc etc.

My chest isnt big though. It has practically no fat. Its just my belly and thighs. Personally I think I dont have as much thigh fat as I think. I used to bike 5 miles a day for several months, so I think that made my thighs a bit bigger. What exercises do you recommend for my belly? I have no access to heavy weights, just dumbbells.

HI

Get thinner thighs is everyones dream. Thigh Fat can be somewhat hard to loose if you do not know which excersises to implement so that only the lower part of your body will be effected, then you would be wasting your time. Squats really help. Also, check our site ThinthighsNow.com you may get what your looking for there if you are looking to loose the weight fast. Hope it helps and keep us posted.

Generally, you cannot "spot reduce" body fat. You can do what you can to lose body fat in general (clean diet, exercise to use more calories that you eat, including resistance training to maintain muscle), but body fat is added and reduced in ways determined by your genetics.

Which makes you about 12 stone? Well thats where i started (im the same height as you) - erm..i having a similar problem, im down to 11 stone basically and can see a two pack/ribs when tense - im just watching what i eat, regular exercise and hope to go towards a 4 pack, then 6

you'll feel loads better when you lose a little weight as at the moment i think 12 stone is borderline for being overweight for your height .

Somehow I lost 5 pounds. I have no clue how. I ate a little healthier and have begun cross country practice. Perhaps thats why. I want to get down to 155 or so, so I need to lose 10 more pounds.
