10 Machines You Must Avoid

Quite interesting actually. Its most probably correct.

Yeah, that was a cool article. Fortunately, I don't use any of those machines anymore, though I did when I was first starting weight training an didn't know any better.

Neat. Like every aspect of life, anything you do will hurt you in some way or another, so why be against using the machines if it's the only way to get a lot of people familiar with going to the gym?

Elaborate here, whats your point :)

I think what he might be saying is that it's unrealistic to expect people who currently do workout, to just enter a gym and start squatting, deadlifting, etc etc. The machines seem much less intimidating, which is why so many people stick to them. And something is better than nothing...

Maybe not though. :D

Did u mean 'dont workout' ?

And if thats what he meant, thats just wrong. Free weights from the start i say.

Whoops, yeah I meant don't. My bad.

Again, I do agree that free weights are the best right from the get go. I don't like machines. But....there was a time when I did them, cause I sure as hell wasn't going in wiht the big dudes and heavy weights. Was it better for me to be doing something rather than nothing at all?

Yea i think it is better doing something rather than nothing at all. But maybe only for a short period of time.

Maybe in the long run if you only used machine this could cause injury i dont know.

And yea i used mainly machines when i first started.

Yeah, I agree, that's all I was saying...I think they can be a nice stepping stone into lifting. No reason not to step it up and grab the free weights after a short while though!!! O snap, that reminds me, leavin work in 20 minutes and hitting up the gym...woot!
