help///.... questions :) :) :) weeeeee

Lunges are a good lower body exercise, especially weighted.
No, coffee is not good for you.

yea i didnt think so. so 2mrw mornin im jus gonna workout and not drink coffie. im gonna stop drinkin it. i do do weighted lunges too. i did 3 sets of 10 with 157lb on a barbell 2day. it killed my legs but it felt goood. any idea bout the other stuff?

1. Your low back is probably not strong enough. Back Extensions, reverse hypers, RDL's, any exercises that train the low back more would be good. Focus in keeping it tight during your squats.

2. Use both conventional and sumo deadlifts. Both have their benefits, there is no need to choose one over the other. As for the lower back rounding, same answer as above. Focus on keeping it tight during the lift, and get it stronger.

3. You can use or not use a belt. People have different ideas about it. I think it is a smart idea.

4. Lunges are a great exercise.

5. I would not worry about 2 cups of coffee. If you were drinking a pot a day it would be a different story.

thanks for the quick replys u guys... ok on monday i have strength lower body, tuesday, strength upper body, wednesday endurance lower body, thursday endurance upper body.....

on monday lower (train for strength) I do

full squats 5 sets
conventional deadlifts 5 sets
power cleans 5 sets

and on wednesday i do
20 rep squat program, (was thinking about switching to full squats 3 or 4 sets)

straingt leg deadlifts 2 sets

lunges 3 sets

my question is should i do conventional deadlifts for strength or endurance, which should i do for which, because I want to do both, I was thinking about doing sumo for the strength day and doing conventional for the endurance day. but i have been doing conventional ever since i have been deadlifting so mabye i should do sumo on endurance days til i get used to them and keep doing conventional on strength days. i think the lunges are helping my deadlift and squat too :)

I drink more than one pot a day. I am still breathing just fine. Last time I checked....:D

Lets see, been about 20 years of drinking coffee.....(yep, chest going up and down: air going in lungs (Last physical exam= excellent). ;)

Best wishes to ALL!

Well, I didn't say Coffee is going to kill you, just that it's not "good" for you, and there are no real benefits.;)

Have a good one.

It makes your "perky"...... ;)

Good afternoon, young man.

Best wishes to you! Everyday!

I know people who drinks on average about 20-22 big cups of coffee a week, I don't like coffee because I don't like the idea of becoming dependent on it for "perkiness" or energy, though I do agree a cup or 2 is fine, i still would avoid it because there are better options out there ( like tea )

Its a matter of choice, phate. I have mine and you have yours. Most tea's have more caffiene in them than coffee (like "some" green teas). Your preference is tea and mine is coffee. My grandmother lived to be 96 (drinking tons of coffee), and currently my mother-law is 80 (and drinks 2 pots of tea per day--this is alot of tea, lol).

I was joking about the perky part anyway, Phate....

I have read on and I am educated in the potential effects of caffiene--there are "pros and cons" with this rather light so called "stimulant". Truth is we are both drinking stimulants. And, the truth is that caffiene and some green teas (extracts) are in some so called fat burners.

This is rather interesting.

I like my sugar-free coffee mocha (sugar free) in the mornings.....keeps me sane....when dieting :)) )

Being educated on this topic as you are, and based on what you have read so far, what would you say are the primary " cons " reported as being associated with above average coffee consumption ?

Rather than making some long posts (which is normally my tradition--unless I see a hidden agenda), I am just going to give some links for those interested, and then leave it at that, :)

For those interested in some views of caffiene:

And, a "view" on the effects on the CNS:

Best wishes to all forum members--be your best every day!

I thought that green tea had a negligible amount of caffeine in them chillen. How can some of them have more caffeine than coffee, unless they have been specifically modified?

While we're on the subject of coffee... (sorry OP)

I have had this discussion with my neighbor, a urologist, my cardiologist and my son's pedicatrician on many occasions. Here is what they have conveyed to me as the conventional wisdoms:

1. Coffee makes some people jittery and hyperactive

2. Coffee may lead to an increased risk of kidney stones - not fatal, but not pleasant

Coffee doesn't do number 1 to me and I am willing to accept the risks of number 2.

That said, coffee makes me creative and often relaxes me and doesn't make me jittery. I have adult ADHD, diagnosed in 1997, and ADHD people are often relaxed by stimulants - seems like an oxymoron, such as Ritalin. I was told by my son's pediatrician, who has also diagnosed me, that caffeine does similar effects on ADHD as Ritalin and the other ADHD meds.

So, I am probably not a typical case study coffee drinker.

You will find variances of green tea in fat burners.

If you read it actually will---vary. Or the amounts of caffiene between coffee and tea--will vary. One can have more than the other, dependent "what" type it is; however, some teas do have more caffiene than coffee. In addition, I think the effects of caffiene in coffee can be "different" than the effects from tea.

Info on tea and caffiene here (to save writing time):

Best wishes to you my young friend,

Chillen

(I too aplogize for the caffiene conversation. If OP wishes for it to be more focused on other issues relevent to his original post, I will refrain, and apologize in advance)

Let me give an example of one product: Mega-T

Claims on bottle product:

Helps curb appetite

Helps burn calories

Helps fight mental fatigue

Ingredients:

It has others in it but the main one is: (do a google on the product if you wish the other ingredients)

Green Tea Leaf: 650mg per serving, 90mg of EGCG, and 50g of caffiene

I do NOT support fat burners. Most of you know this. I felt the need to say that so there is no misunderstanding.

Best wishes
