Do You Experiment?

Im planning to do 50 crunches each day for 3 weeks and see what the results are if any, I've done this for the last 2 days and Im looking to continue. Does anyone else 'experiment'. It helps a good target to work towards.

I try to set some new goal every month. Sometimes its a diet change, sometimes a new exercise thing, but at least something to work towards.

Last September I decided to do some ab exercise every day for a year - and I only missed four days, all due to illness or injury. I was happy when the year was up and I went down to five days a week, but it did really motivate me to do something every day. And I feel like I achieved something in addition to strong abs by sticking to it.

This month I've recommitte to getting in 20 minutes a week on the stairmaster - which reminds me that I have to get busy or I won't make it this week.

Its not called the stairmaster its called the stair MONSTER

Oh yeah and I experiment alot. It usually involves a blender.

You did ab exercises for a whole year! What impact as this had, Im only on day 3!

I can't say that I have six-pack abs - I still have more weight to lose, but I do feel like my 'core' is really strong. What was the best for me was the discipline that it helped with - that I had committed to myself that I would do it, and there were a lot of days when I was tired or had other stuff I would rater do, but I felt like once I broke the string, I wouldn't go back.

I didn't do the same thing every day - on the nights I lift I do a circuit at the end - not always in this oirder, but - using some contraption that I don't know the name of, I do some things that involve legs - pulling them up straight legged for 10 reps, then bringing them up with knees bent for 10, then 'running' in place for as long as I can stand it; then 20 reps on a 'chair' with weights, then 20 on a decline bench - sometimes 20 on a ball-then repeat.

Other nights I do 'floor abs - 11 or 12 different moves to try to hit different parts of the muscle. Sometimes I followed a set of routines on 'Fit TV'. And then one day a week I usually take a Pilates class. Varierty was a key for me.

I missed two days with a sprained ankle, one when I hurt my arm, and one was I was ill....so I felt that I had met the goal. I know a lot of people don't approve of working the same muscle multiple days in a row but I felt like this was good for me.

Ive done 50 stomach crunches for 4 days now, I seem to think that Im seeing results already but I cant be sure. In the past i gad to tense my stomach muscle to feel them but now I can feel something with normal breating. But maybe Im just imaging it.

^^ Im the same ;)

But sticking to the topic man! I experiment quite often, iv recently experimented with my own supplement for calories etc. And i experiment with new exercises alllllll the time!

Just don't hurt yourself..

Theres really no reason to experiment if theres clear evidence its not gonna work. Why don't you experiment with things that haven't been proven yet but are said to work. Try searching the Velocity-Diet or the Anabolic-Diet and do those.

I wont hurt myself :)

I know my limits and whats safe, But thnx might have a look into those.
