Alligatorob's Diary

It was a good day, I ate well, exercised and feel good tonight. Got in a full 2 hours at the gym and felt good about it.
a couple early peppers from last year's plants.
a few dozen more in the works.
Flyer, your peppers always look good. I see you had some survivors from last year.
Good man. Alhough I´ve been to one of their shows once (in my late teens, free tickets), and it was immensely cringy so I personally wouldn´t be upset if they disappeared.
Never saw you as a Chipendales girl! No need to cringe though, might as well enjoy it.

:D The main cringe-factor came from the audience reactions. I´m not a big fan of large groups of people anyway and when they start screaming it´s all over for me. The guys were ok. They didn´t move badly but they looked like they all came from the same casting mold with a different wig and maybe some slight variety in the paint job. Boring.

An ok day, I did not eat enough, I did not exercise, and I feel a bit down tonight. But hey, things could be worse. I kind of lost track of calories and when I added things up I found I had too much deficit to make up in my evening snack. I will do better tomorrow. It was a kind of planned rest day, no formal exercise, but I did do some yardwork. Things could have been worse.

I have only seen a few short things on TV showing them, so no real idea what its like. And I can understand the cringe factor thing. In my youth I went to a few strip places, maybe half a dozen times, I usually enjoyed it. The spectacle was always interesting, though not as titillating as I imagined it would be. The most memorable show I saw was in a seedy bar near the big Navy Base in Pensacola. In the center of the room there was one very long table with people, mostly men, seated at it drinking and smoking. The girl danced up and down the table spilling a few of the drinks, then she picked up a couple of beers poured them on herself took a run at the table and slid the length of the room scattering all the beer bottles, ashtrays, and glasses. I think everyone got pretty wet. Not so well choreographed as the Chipendales I imagine.

Rob I wonder if you upped the calories a bit would you have felt less down . I think maybe you have been overdoing it a bit .
Funny story on the strip bar . That would have been some mess. I always enjoy the movie coyote ugly . ( I think it's called that ) . Not a strip bar but a more dance bar )

Maybe, my calories were up today and I felt better. Will have to look for the Coyote Ugly movie, sounds good.
The bar slide sounds like something out of a movie for sure
My memory of it certainly could have been. One thing I liked about it was the woman seemed to be enjoying the whole thing, she was drinking from the customers glasses and probably a bit tipsey when it happened. As I said it was a seedy bar, all seemed to like it. Maybe she did it every night.
Is there a particular reason you're training to exhaustion?
What I meant was for each of the exercises I try to lift as much weight as possible and do 7 to 10 reps to muscle failure or exhustion. Then I rest 1 or 2 minutes and do it again, 3 reps. I think that is pretty standard weight training. Given the rests it is probably not as much exercise as a more continuous work out. But it is what I understand best builds strength. I am far from having a body builder's body, and that's not my objective, I just want not to lose too much muscle and stay as strong as possible while losing weight. I am not usually fully exhusted at the end of the workout, when I started I was doing 50 or 60 minutes and felt a lot more tired at the end.

That's interesting that you struggle to get your calories up high enough but I guess you're so used to eating so little by now.
Glad to hear you had a better day today.

Oh I see - I do know what you're talking about, it just didn't equate as I usually hear it being referred to as fatigue. Silly me! Yes, that does sound like a good plan to encourage your body to keep a hold of your muscle.

Yesterday was a good day, I ate well, exercised and felt good. Got in 2 hours and 10 minutes at the gym, a new high. We had company come, friends from Arizona with their 12 year old son, grandkids came over and had fun. My calories were higher than usual, I had some whiskey, first time in a while. They are still here so I am not sure what today will bring, probably no exercise, except maybe some walking.

Yes, it happens from time to time, a very new thing for me!

Probably the right word, even here. I am new to exercising and don't know the jargon very well.
Came here since you posted in my thread and wow! Phenomenal job!
Thanks Bubbles, good to see you here.
Good you feel better with a few more calories . It's hard to get it just right .
Yes, real hard. Don't suppose we ever "get it right" for long, just close enough.

It was a good day, I ate well (a few more calories than usual), exercised a little, and feel good tonight.

My exercise was about an hour of walking along the Great Salt Lake. Drove out to the Spiral Jetty, an interesting work of art (Spiral Jetty - Wikipedia ), picture below.IMG_1306 (002).jpg
No swimming but I did wade into the water up to about knee depth. The bottom has a layer of salt crystal, not comfortable on bare feet, picture taken from the lake:

You know that means increasing your calories didn't significantly slow your weightloss. Jus' sayin'.
Yes, that has not been lost on me. My weight loss has slowed a little, only lost 5 lbs in June, my slowest month so far, but now I have lost another 5 lbs in July. I will be slowing it down.
It sounds & looks like a really good day, Rob. Good to see you having some extra calories :)
It was I like the desert and the Salt Lake, a very unique place. And I will be eating a few more calories.
