Survived being back at uni yesterday,
I will have 5 field trips for one subject
Botany (learning plant IDs and spending time drawing them in a journal), Canoe and Kayak training, Navigation workshop, Full day mountain hike, 2 day Fraser Island trip (sea kayak up the coast then hike back). Every field trip has to be logged in a journal. on the surface this looks like a simple subject, in reality it is a very complex subject with a lot to learn, especially about learning to lead large groups of people in what could be stressful conditions.
It is cyclone season now, and if there is severe weather the lecturer sees coping in that environment during extreme weather to be a great learning experience because for those who choose to be adventure leaders, it is important to learn how to keep your groups safe regardless of what the weather throws at you.
Survived my psychology class, and the ice breaker activities we had to do were not as bad as I feared. assessments involve 5 quizzes and a digital poster analyzing a public figure of our choice, I need to decide on who, early, as the poster is 50% of the marks.
