Dylan's Diary

6/25/19

Sorry I didn't update these past few days, been very busy with hardly any free time to write an update on my diary. Anyways, let's cover today's progress.

Breakfast:
Banana
Water

Lunch:
Small package of cashews
Corn Nuts
Zero-Gatorade
Unsweetened green tea

Dinner:
2 slices of pizza (pepperoni)
Half chicken breast
Salad w/ shrimp
Whey Protein

Today was another crazy day of being on the road with work. Didn't have time for a proper lunch or breakfast, so I grabbed a banana and a water bottle before I left the house, and had to eat gas station food which really sucked, but I had no choice, was on the clock the entire day. Dinner wasn't the best either, but not terrible. I was at a friends house after work for a while, and he had nothing to eat but pizza so I had 2 slices which were fairly small to be honest with you, I'd say maybe like 80-100 calories a slice give or take. But, knowing I worked my ass off today, I doubt it had any effect on my deficit.

When I got home, I finished the day with a proper meal, with chicken breast, salad and whey protein. Again, crazy crazy day, but I think it was another success in my book! Very hot day at work, drank lots of water!

Hey Dylan, looks like you had a decent day today, and have had over all good progress, good for you.

Pizza can be one of those deceptive things, a slice can have as little as 200 calories, or a whole lot more depending on how big and whats on it. I still have some pizza from time to time, but only small pieces.

Keep on posten!

Pizza is definitely one of my favorite foods of all time, but I have to very careful with it, because it's super high in carbs, grease and fat. My old ways, I use to binge eat pizza until I was completely stuffed. Now, I am very careful with eating it, and I usually just have it as a treat and on a special or rare occasion now. Yeah, it sucks I have to let the pizza "free for all" go because of my healthier lifestyle of eating, but when I have pizza, it's a very special treat, it's definitely more enjoyable because you rarely ever have it. It makes it more special to eat, which is always nice.

I use to eat pizza, soda, and all that stuff like ALLLLL the time. Now that I really understand how dangerous that kind of calorie, high sugar and fat consumption is, makes me wonder how I'm not dead haha (jk)

On a more serious note, I usually talk to myself whenever I crave just binge eating a pile of junk food. If I see it, I usually just tell myself "You have all your life to enjoy food, why end your progress now for something that will be there forever? Food will be there when I'm 360 pounds, and food will still be there when I'm 200 pounds.... Keep taking care of yourself, and look at the bigger picture Dylan!"

Most people fear healthy eating lifestyle because they are afraid of letting there favorite foods go, and they think it's FOREVER. This is completely false, food will always be there when you are big or fit.... enjoy them, but MODERATION is key.

A wise man once told me "Usually, to much of a good thing, is not a good thing."

Great post and a great mindset. Don't undereat too much please but for a hellishly busy day with little control over your food choices I think you did well.

Sorry for the late update, just now writing this currently at 12:57 AM as I been gone since 7:00 AM in the morning. Today has been another very busy day. I went to work from 7am-2pm and welding class from 3:45pm-945pm with an hour drive back home (YIKES). Without further ado, let's get into the meals for today.

Breakfast:
Banana
Apple
Water

Lunch:
Grilled Chicken Salad
Unsweetened Tea

Dinner:
Grilled Chicken
1 Cup of whole grain brown rice w/ a scoop of butter, dash of salt.
Glass of Milk
Whey Protein

Today was filled with lots of activity, and hard work. If you haven't known already, I currently work for a fence company so there is a lot of lifting, walking, hauling lumber, moving and mixing concrete, digging holes, and taking measurements. It was a very hot day, so I was consuming water like crazy, it was up to 90 DEGREES!

Anyways, I think today was another successful day, even though I didn't eat as much as I normally do, I didn't really feel hungry at all today which is weird. Maybe I felt hungry once during class, but that was it honestly. Not sure why I'm not as hungry as I use to be, maybe it's because my stomach is getting smaller? I'm not sure, but I ate enough today to feel satisfied and not starving myself which is weird because I'm a big guy, and I'm honestly glad I'm not thinking about eating food all the time now.

When I had bad unhealthy eating habits, I would be hungry so much throughout the day, and I could honestly eat anything that stood in my path, which is kind of depressing to think about. Also, I've noticed a difference in the way I look a little bit, I feel lighter on my feet, and I feel like I have more agility than before. I honestly can't wait to see how much I lost at the end of the week, as I will definitely update my weight come this Friday!

I'm glad things are starting to come alive, as I'm still very much overweight, but I'm starting to feel the decline. This gives me even more motivation to keep moving forward! Once I reach my weight goal of 250 pounds, I will definitely post a before and after picture once I have achieved the goal. Wouldn't really want to post pictures now, because I don't like to present things if I haven't even done it yet if that makes sense because it would make me feel like a "All talk, No Action" type of person.

Who knows? Maybe I won't be satisfied with 250 pounds, maybe I'll want to lose even more. I don't see a problem with adding more goals later down the line :p

KEEP MOVING, EAT HEALTHY, BE SMART!

Great to hear you're feeling better already! I hope there were lots of vegetables in that chicken salad otherwise you're going to be mighty low on fiber and some vitamins :)

Great to see how well things have been going for you, Dylan (except for inhaling those fumes, yikes!). No need to apologize about how often you are posting, it's your diary, you have control!

Keep up the good work!

Good for you Dylan! It is surprising how quickly getting on track can make you feel better.
Indeed!

I just realized I typed in the incorrect date on the previous update I made, and I can't edit the post now so it's a big bummer. Anyways, today was a very hot and busy day. I was working in the field today, and it was another 90 degree day. I was drinking plenty of water throughout the day, but started to feel dizzy and tired. I think I was slightly entering a heat stroke for a bit, so I went into the shade and relaxed until I was feeling okay again, then I went back to work. Also, I thought I did pretty good with meals today as well.

Breakfast:
Banana
Oats

Lunch:
Chicken Salad (if you haven't noticed by now, I am a chicken salad fanatic haha)
Unsweetened Iced Tea

Snack:
Greek Yogurt

Dinner:
1 Cup of Brown Rice w/ a dash of garlic salt
Chicken Breast
Whey Protein
Unsweetened Iced Tea

If you couldn't tell, I like to keep my meals extremely simple. I'm a pretty basic when it comes to meal prepping, but sometimes I do like to make something crazy complex like a nice recipe, but for the most part, I pick a meat, veggie, whole grains or fruit and that's pretty much it haha. I'm very excited to see and share my current weight results because tomorrow is weigh day (it rhymes). Every Friday, I weigh myself and update my diary which I call it "Weigh Day Fridays". I find it more better to weigh myself at the end of the week, because the scale can be very deceiving when it comes to checking it all the time. Sometimes, it could be water weight, sodium weight still left in your body, and little things like that.

Friday mornings on "weigh day" I wake up, use the bathroom, strip nude, and hop on the scale for the most accurate results possible.

Another good thing is I got paid today so hooray for me! Also, I can definitely tell a difference. I seem to be lighter and I feel as if I walk faster. I'm starting to look a little different, but I'm still very obese, but I'm making progress day by day. I can honestly say I've never made it this far in healthy eating so i can officially say this is the longest I've stuck with the "healthy eating" lifestyle which is a huge accomplishment and I have no thoughts of giving up!

This coming Monday, I will be starting "Week 5" of my healthy eating journey and I'm very happy I'm a month strong into it.

Just wanted to take the time and say thank you for those who reply and read my diary submissions. You guys don't understand how awesome it is to have feedback. It makes me feel less alone on the tough and long journey, and it helps me stay motivated so that I can report my progress to an actual audience. I know the diary thing is for personal use, but I absolutely love the feedback I'm getting from you all.

:D

That's excellent, Dylan. You are doing so well!

Great work! Please take care of yourself working outside in the summer sun though o_O I´m not a fan of cooking so my "recipes" have to be extremely quick&simple as well.

That's absolutely brilliant, about sticking with it, and seeing (and feeling!) results. The numbers on the scale are also great encouragers, most of the time, but when you start to see actual change in bodyshape, and feel the energy that comes from not carrying around extra weight that's a real buzz!
(I'm with LaMa, above - be careful working out in the sun. Wear a hat and eye-protecting sunnies! )

IT'S WEIGH DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Had an absolutely fantastic day today, as I hopped on the scale and saw my results! But first, let's get started with my meals for today...

Breakfast:
Oats w/ scoop of whey, dash of salt
Banana
Unsweetened tea

Lunch:
Grilled Chicken Salad w/ Low Fat Balsamic Vinaigrette
Unsweetened Tea

Dinner:
Double Bacon Cheese Burger (no bun)
Zero-Gatorade
Water

Weight: 352

THAT'S RIGHT!!!!

I lost 3 pounds this week which I was so happy to see as I was running around the house happy! (and yes, I checked my weight in the morning and stepped on the scale 4 times to confirm the scale was accurate)

I was really surprised I lost that much this week, when I was honestly expecting 2 pounds maybe 1 and a half, so the fact that I was at least expecting a 2 pound loss at max, I lost 3 (I was jumping up and down) haha. Anyways, I'm very happy with the results, and this coming Monday will be the start of week #5 and my goal is 350 or less by next Friday or as I like to call it "Weigh Day". Words can't explain how happy with the numbers I'm seeing, I'm really digging it.

In conclusion, it was a successful day, and closed out week #4 on a very positive result finish. So far, I've lost a total of 11 pounds and I can't wait for next week to start and lose another 2-3 pounds!!!!

Just have to turn things up a notch, keep moving, stay healthy, and be smart!!!!!!

Congratulations!:party::party: That's amazing and you deserve every ounce of it.
Thank you!

Hard work definitely pays off, just trying to make sure I turn things up a notch starting next week. If I do the same routine, my body will start getting use to things, and stay at current weight. I'm definitely going to turn up the activity level just a notch so I can ensure positive results come next Friday!

I've had someone tell me 3 pounds or more per week is considered "unhealthy". However, I've been doing some research online, and studies show if you are obese, losing 3 pounds per week is considered healthy weight loss. If you are not obese, and you are losing 3 pounds per week, it's considered "aggressive".
