Hi I'm Hannah, I'm 12 st 6 or something like that and my ideal weight is 8 st 7 so I want to lose around 4 st in the next 6ish months hopefully. I've been eating healthy for the last week and I'm going to the gym tomorrow I just don't know if it's enough and maybe I need to eat even smaller amounts. I hate calorie counting or eating under 1000 calories a day. How has anyone else lost a lot of weight like that?? Thanks for any responses :)

Hi, Hannah & welcome to the forum. Without knowing more about what you are actually eating it's hard for anyone to give advice. Everyone has different ideas on what path to follow, but most of us think that eating less than 1200 cals a day is not a good idea. There's a useful link here to give you an idea of what info will help others to help you. It is https://weight-loss.fitness.com/threads/information-needed-when-asking-for-help.89399/
Answer any that you like or none. I don't think any of us like counting calories, but sometimes it helps for a while until you get an idea of what is in the food you are consuming. 4 stone is a lot to lose in 6 months. Try not to be in too much of a hurry. Getting healthy & fit is something that is of long-term benefit & you want it to be sustainable. Cheers, Cate

I managed to lose 1 stone in 3 month, but my work out was rather not intensiv. 2 stones per 3 month is possible, but you need a very high activity and a proper meal plan.
Your higher weight means that activity can cause ligament or joint damages. I would recommend you to get 100 % collagen supplements. It will improve your protein intake too.
Swimming is the best sport for a quick weight loss, because it has very low chance of injuries. Just avoid cramps. Combine it with high intensity interval training to maximize energy output.
Keto diet is the fastest way to lose fat, but it is not easy to maintain. Personally I have switched to low GI diet, which is not so effective, but better for beginners.
I would recommend you Athlean X on youtube for very hard gym workout sets. He doesn't prefer keto diet tho.
Start can be pretty fast and you can lose 5 kilos in a week, but further it become more and more difficult. Let us know how you are doing. I wish you good luck.

There is no solid scientific proof of these supplements helping anything and because they are an incomplete protein profile, do not count towards protein intake.

There shouldn't be scientific proof for everything, while many studies are proofed to be wrong after some time too. It is called a personal experience. Don't trust me, it is your choice.
Eaten protein is literally an intake of protein. It is your responsibility to count an amount of essential amino acids in your diet. Food is usually not enough rich in proline, hydroxylysine and hydroxyproline so collagen helps to prevent this deficit.

I loss Weight in a week without dieting by Following this system:
Drink large quantities of water at least twice a day, helping to rid the body of the toxins accumulated in it and help to put out, and helps to burn fat and dissolving cellulite accumulated in different parts of the body, in addition to increasing the feeling of fullness and reduce the need To eat meals in large quantities during the day, which automatically contributes to weight loss during record time.

Eat more fruits and vegetables rich in fiber between meals, which increase the feeling of satiety, which significantly reduces the weight in a short time, and avoid eating dinner, which is one of the strongest causes of weight gain

Food is usually not enough rich in proline, hydroxylysine and hydroxyproline so collagen helps to prevent this deficit.
A good basic diet covers all of these needs, If you want to push supplements then yes proof is needed, in my experience here those who believe in not offering proof for a supplement or product have something to gain, usually selling the stuff.

Sorry but that is not possible. When you want to start intensive work out, your needs change. Joint and ligantment stress is much higher due to your increased weight, so you need compensated diet plan not a normal basic balanced plan. You can get proline, hydroxylysine and hydroxyproline from specific kinds of meat, but it is more difficult than buying a supplement.
Low amount of collagen in diet plans all over the world is very common.

I do not eat any kind of "compensated diet plan" and have no problems at all consuming enough, as a national champion it was not needed and it is not need for the average person either. supplement companies make a lot of money selling snake oil lol

Who said anything about increased pain lol, so what benefits are you getting out of pushing supplements

Your first link is irrelevant to the conversation - not a discussion about specific exercises
2nd link confirms that collagen is used in some types of weight loss products "has not been scientifically proven" and "there is no evidence that ingesting collagen can promote muscle building"
3rd Link - "results showed no statistically significant differences for the total study group (all sites) for differences of mean pain score for pain" and is of interest for further study
4th link - not a collagen study, not relevant
5th link, diet was not controlled, in a study of elderly (age 72) all with differing training - so many variable proves nothing
6th link - full study not published and no indications of the controls in place to ensure they are actually testing what they want to test.

All study were peer reviewed, you don't respect them, that is your opinion. Write metaanalysis about these studies. Until then your arguments are invalid and does not deny positive effects of collagen, you did only analysis of few arguments, not studies as whole. Do whatever you want, but be precise as presented studies.
You should bring studies that disprove positive effects, I am waiting.

Btw.
2nd link A hydrolyzed collagen product showed efficacy in reducing the weight of 50 overweight people. According to the study, which was led by Joel B. Lao of the Essentially Yours Industries Corp. Office of Product Research, found that one daily tablespoon of a collagen hydrosolate product produced an average weight loss of 10 pounds within three months.
3rd link There was, however, a significant treatment advantage of PCH over placebo in German sites. In addition, increased efficacy for PCH as compared to placebo was observed in the overall study population amongst patients with more severe symptomatology at study onset.
5th link You wrote nothing. It had substantial control group.
6th link You can access through Shibboleth or OpenAthens access. It was fully published.

Show some studies, which show that collagen is same as placebo.
