Hi, I'm Wit. I am twenty years old, 5'2", weigh 170lbs and I have been trying to lose 60lbs by next summer. I am not very active, I do pilates about twice a week and take my family's dog on two 1/2 mile walks a day, which ends up burning 1/2 the calories i consume. I know that I need to exersize more but I do have several medical issues that makes that difficult. I also take quite a few supplements to handle those issues and my ADHD.
Today I ate:
3 slices of chedder cheese (109 calories)
1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt with blueberries (275 calories)
gluten free bagel thin with cream cheese (180 calories)
Total:564 calories
I took the dog for a walk (-103 calories)
And danced for an hour (-346 calories)
Total:-449 calories
I also drank
24 oz of water
2 cups of peppermint tea
1 cup chaga tea
All in all, today was ok. I hope tomorrow will continue on track cause I will be eating out.

Hi Wit and welcome to the forum. Are you aware that your body burns calories even when you´re not exercising? Even when you´re trying to lose weight 1500 kcal a day are usually necessary for women to get enough nutrients to keep their bodies going and going lower for longer periods of time can be harmful to your health. More room for fruit and vegetables!

Thanks for the advice! I do normally eat about 1200cal a day but yesterday was kind of wonky. I was not very hungry.

Second day, I went to see a friend in Boston and wound up eating worse than usual :'( I also spent all day in the car or hanging out so I did not manage to exercise.
I ate:
1/4 cup of tuna salad (150 calories)
2 Gluten free PB and honey sandwichs (780 calories)
a Kind Bar (180 calories)
a Starbucks chestnut praline latte (210 calories)
and a gluten free tuna salad sandwich (340 calories)
Total: 1660 calories 460 over the ideal.
I need to eat more vegitalbles and fruits. I'm normally better about that but I couldn't find any when I was rushing out the door this morning. And question; does singing loudly for about six hours count as a bit of exercise?

And question; does singing loudly for about six hours count as a bit of exercise?

:D I´m sure it helps with endorphins and it probably increased circulation but the muscles you use for singing aren´t very large so they won´t burn all that much extra energy :p Sounds like you had a lot of fun though!

Hi, witwilley & welcome to the forum.

Yes, you do. It's best to use your calories to get the most nutrition possible.
Singing is good for your soul.
Just making small changes will make such a difference to becoming healthier & more active. Start taking the steps, instead of the lift. Have a piece of fruit instead of some sweet, processed snack, try drinking black, unsweetened coffee (yes, you can do it). Habits can be changed. There is a multitude of changes you can make & they add up.
Make sure you nourish your body. Don't starve yourself. You can make positive changes that will be sustainable for the rest of your life. Don't be in too much of a rush. Do it right. Cheers, Cate

yesterday was better calorie wise but worse actual food and exercise wise.
I ate; a bagel thin, an apple, lentil soup, a slice of toast, three coins of milk chocolate gelt, 1/2 cup of macaroni and cheese, two hot dogs and a cup of roasted cabbage. Total: 1193 calories
I did not end up exercising. T.T

Today was really good exercise and calorie wise but actual foods could have been much better. I had oatmeal for breakfast, a starbucks latte as an excuse to stay in the cafe and draw, miso soup and genmaicha green tea for lunch, a cider donut and hot cider while listening to my brother's choir caroling and pizza and gingerale for dinner.
Total: 1204 calories
While I was out today I kind of got lost and wandered around for an hour and fifteen minutes. I burned 876 calories but think it may have made me sick (I have a pathetic immune system) I am now curled up in bed with herbal tea for my throat.

876 calories just wandering around for 75 minutes? You must be one speedy walker! Sorry you´re feeling crummy :( Hope you´ll feel better soon! (Maybe your immune system would be more efficient if it got enough vitamins, minerals and trace elements from fruit&veg? Could be a good source of motivation!)
