Oh, WOW, that is worth celebrating!

Yay for broadening tastes!
OH, it is DEFINITELY worth celebrating.
See, when I was younger my parents raised me to eat and respect whatever was put in front of me. Sure, I got to pick what was for dinner but that was only every once in a while (once every other week or so). The majority of the time I had no say in what we ate so I had to deal with it. My parents raised me to respect the food that was put in front of me, no matter what it was, and eat it. That was all I got. And, if I didn't eat it, too bad. I wasn't getting anything else. Being raised like that expanded my horizon when it came to food and made me the open-minded eater I am today.
Now, did that I mean I LIKED everything I ate when I was a kid? HAHAHA, hell no. But, I at least respected it and ate it. However, our daughter (since she's been raised by MULTIPLE people, all of which have completely different views when it comes to feeding a child) has grown up to become an extremely selfish, picky eater. If she doesn't get exactly what she wants she often whines and complains about it, as if the world owes her the meal of her choosing every single time. She even used to throw a fit - like a crying, screaming fit - when she would get something she LIKED...but just wasn't in the mood for it. She screamed and cried in her bed one night because we had chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese...which is literally one of her favorite things. BUT, she wanted pancakes that night, soooo...

It has often been so bad in the past that Jen and I have ended up in fights with each other over it - like, FIGHT fights, HAHAHA.
But, since she's getting older she's responding a little better to being forced to live like a grown up (well, a grown up KID anyway). She's been dressing more like a grown up kid, behaving (for the most part) like a grown up kid, etc. And, last night? She showed signs of EATING like a grown up kid!!!
The only thing I wish she would've done differently is order something beside chicken tenders and fries (which is something on a kids menu), but she didn't bitch about anything, she didn't whine that she had to order off the regular menu and, what made me the happiest, was when she was willing to try new foods. She was "this close" to trying an onion ring but she ended up bowing out after she saw that there was "pieces of onion" in it (like, what the fuck did you THINK was in an ONION ring? HAHAHA), but she tried some other stuff she normally wouldn't. THAT made me happy.
You know what does NOT make me happy though? The God damned snow that's on the ground right now, UGH.
