What is The Cause of Your Weight Gain?

Health and wellness is very Bio-individual. What may work REALLY well for me may not have any impact for you.

Once we can identify the REAL cause (not symptoms) of our weight gain and take persistent action steps to correct the cause can we start to shift the excess weight / fat.

Take 5 minutes to reflect as to what do you believe to be the CAUSE of your weight gain?

Generally people says when you eat high calorie compares to the body function then the weight gain occurs. Due to some vitamins or nutrient deficient also weight gain occurs.

At first, I thought I was just getting lazy and old. I've always lived a pretty active lifestyle (played competitive sports and run) and although I wasn't (I am now) calorie counting, I thought I had pretty good diet. When I noticed weight gain initially, I chalked it up to being mid 20's. When the weight piled on I realized something was up. I worked on my diet and exercise regime, but I was still the same. Then I started to get sick a lot so now I'm in the process of undergoing tests. I should find out in a month or so what's up! Then I can actually fix it.

I am a stress eater. I need to get into a low-stress mindset before I can effectively lose weight. This is my biggest uphill climb

I recently started taking a medication that is known to increase appetite, and cause weight gain. I am trying to off-set the weight gain with a healthy diet but it doesn't seem to be working ):

The fat, protein and calorie level of the food what we eat everyday is the main cause of our weight gain. When we eat extra then our nutrition level then we started gaining weight. That's the main reason of our weight gain. Thank you.

I swear that some foods affect me differently than others. I know we shouldn't eat too much in the way of fried foods. But I go to a local restaurant when they have all-you-can-eat fish and chips. I'm not crazy about their fries but I do go to town on the fish. There are probably other factors at play but I swear I lose weight when I eat lots of fish....even if its fried.

Did you find out anything?

Generally weight gain is simply down to being in a hyper caloric (above your requirements) a lot of the time. In the odd case there will be something metabolic going. I don't think just blaming foods is the answer its about behavioural patterns and using food in certain emotional responses.

This is a cool article outlining the varied reasons for weight gain, obviously on the more extreme end. Above all, I think the main takeaway from it is that no matter what the reason, we shouldn't blame ourselves or a lack of willpower when there are so many other factors.

usually weight gain due to slow down of metabolism and having large meals at a single time including lots of calories. It's other reasons could be not having proper sleep and stress.

I gained weight over the last year, because I was focused on finishing my studies & getting a job, and in the process I ignored eating and exercising properly. I tend to eat when I am bored and when I am stressed, two emotional states that I have been in a lot in the last year.

I have started losing weight just after starting this job. It is a challenging job, but I feel calmer, because my life is going somewhere now. Now that I have a good chance to be successful in my career, I also have more motivation to pursue my health and fitness goals. I want to be strong and healthy.

Weight loss is not the same with everyone. However, there are general strategies to lose weight and maintain a healthy balance. The most basic discipline I need in my life is to make sure I eat less than the calories I burn. Not easy but possible. As I am slowing down metabolically, I have to replace so much of what I used to eat with fruits, vegetable, and lean meat. Blessings.
