muscle recovery while dieting

so im working out same as always, to the point where i sometimes feel sore the next day...the problem being in trying to lose fat, my question is...if im eating less food and not enough protein that i should be getting, will that negatively affect my muscle recovery? slow it down or eliminate it entirely?

You'll still get some muscle repair and at a cellular level that's not different to building muscle. But nothing like when bulking where you've got lots of nutrition floating around in you for most of the day, you only have small windows for muscle building when cutting.

Keep on getting a good PWO meal, and you should probably decrease your weight lifting volume. I'd do 3 compound exercises each session plus a few sets of abs or rotary cuff, so you get through the entire body in 2 sessions.

I wouldn't lift lighter, your muscles are that size to handle the loads you're lifting, you want them to remain that way. Just reduce the volume. 3-4 good compound exercises, focusing on different parts, each session is plenty to keep off atrophy and retain strength, and the time is much better spent doing cardio that burns off lots of calories.
