I had a bad bout of depression yesterday and did not make it to the gym.

I'm going to go today.

I also signed up for a speed dating event on Saturday. It was a difficult decision- I've been to a couple and rejection is hard to deal with- especially when I don't feel good about myself and my body. But I think fat or not- I need to put myself out there- maybe the rejection will motivate me to stick to my health and fitness goals. We will see. Tomorrow will be an interesting day.

Try to think kind thoughts about yourself when you go Misty. I'm glad you are not going to hide yourself away. Hope it goes well xo

Thank you, Cate. I will post and let you know how it went.

You struck the nail on the head - I have been "hiding". I've missed many events or made excuses to not go out to events because of how I look. That's no way to live- yes I've been hiding for a while. The exercise is helping me feel a bit better about myself. I'm not seeing any changes with my body yet but it's only been one week and I exercised 3 times this week. I will work harder next week.

Three times a week is fine hon, especially when your body is just getting used to a lot of changes. Give it a bit of time! Also: kudos for putting yourself out there. People who make fun of other people because of their (fill in the blank) aren´t likely to be good relationship material. It´s one way of separating the chaff from the wheat.

Thanks so much LaMaria! Yes it's true, they're probably shallow and not good relationship material. I'm on way way to the event, will update when done!

Speed dating event had some of the worst turn out of guys I've ever seen. One was really creepy. Disappointed and down but will keep going.

Hey guys I'm feeling more upbeat today- I'm doing a goal setting session with my close friend today and I want to create and stick to some goals for the year.

Yesterday was really depressing but I think there just may be someone out there for me. I don't know for sure but I'm hoping. If you are reading this and you have a spouse or partner that is good to you, then believe me, you are so lucky!! It's a jungle out there lol

Iknow I am very lucky misty. It is a jungle out there. I'm glad you feel that there may be someone out there for you & that your icky speed dating experience has not put you off.

I had a few bad food days, but made it to the gym today - 2 miles

Did 3 miles on the treadmill yesterday

My ovarian cysts are acting up- had the problem since 2011- that's when the doctor told me to eat more green veggies- so I've been bleeding (sorry if this is too graphic for you!!). Eating veggies aside, I feel like I can't cut out stuff like bread and coffee which a PCOS diet says you should do. It just sucks. Also PCOS makes it harder for you to lose weight. Sorry, I'm in a vent-y type of mood. I just don't like dealing with this problem that keeps resurfacing. Hair loss is another complication associated with PCOS and my hairdresser did say my hair was thinning. I'm trying but it's hard to stay 100% good all the time :(

I'm happy it's Friday ~~

Hi Misty,

Celebrate your successes and forget about the failures. You will reach your goal before you know it! Great job on the running.

Having PCOS must be hard to cope with misty. I looked up recommended diets with pcos & it looks like a "normal" healthy diet is recommended. Low GI, low fat, fresh fruit & veg, fish, minimise processed food etc. If you concentrate & look at it as an opportunity to get healthy (& lose weight) instead of feeling bad about the pcos it may make it easier to cope with, especially if the side-effects reduce.
I know a few women with pcos & it does suck. It's fine to vent. This is your space. Hang in there sweetie, xoxo Cate
PS Try oat bread, which I love. I get a sour dough one. I can cope with eating that but don't eat any other bread with gluten.

Hey thanks so much, Cate. I get frustrated with myself, I really do. And then I think I start my emotional binge eating sometimes. But thanks for your words and you're right I should look at this more change positively rather than focus on my negative symptoms.
