hello

hey! i'm new here, too. i guess i'm just trying to learn how to maximize my workouts and be healthy. generally, i've been a pretty healthy person but this summer, i experienced a ton of stressful events and increased level of anxiety that compelled me to get my butt in gear and to take care of my health.

sorry in advance if i ask a bunch of questions that have already been asked! i'm going to scour the forum for answers but i might miss a thing or two...

feel free to talk to me or give advice!

btw, i'm: 5'5" and 135 with goal to lose 10 pounds by the end of the year. sounds like a long time but i think it'll take a while for me to fully understand how to lose the weight and keep it off! :) but, any tips on getting rid of it quicker will be greatly appreciated!!!

Welcome to the forum!.......I will help YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know if you are still logged in, but I will impart some information to get you started in understanding weight loss basics ...........set the path right!

ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

hey chillen,

yes!!! i'll appreciate any insight you can offer - especially the basics! here's a bit more about me just in case it'll help you figure out my problem:

over the past four months, i've been doing anywhere from 20-40 mins of cardio about 3-4 times a week. and i work my arms, stomach and legs everyday with pilates. so far, i've lost 15 pounds with this workout but not sure how to push my body over the last 10 pounds. i've been stuck for about a month.

oh, and another annoying thing about me -- i can only really do cardio 3-4 times a week because i straighten my hair and usually like to keep it fresh for 3 days out of the week which means minimizing sweat! (i know, silly)

is there a way for me to work out more efficiently for only 3-4 days and still get over this 10 pound hump? i'm willing to up the ante on those days and also change my workout BUT, also worth noting - i don't have a gym membership! i do everything at home on my own.

thanks again for your nice note!

So I dont have to repost the same information here is a link to basic information I provided to another forum member:

If you have any questions post them here.

I also suggest starting a diary here on the forum in the correct section: You could impart your diet information, your weight training information and progress, post pics of progress, ask questions. Alot of members view these and it could get some beneficial feed back and boost your motivation and interaction with members.........GIVE IT A SHOT, brotha! I for one, get lose lips.....in them sometimes......LOL.....(at least I admit it, LOL)

Best regards,

Chillen

I will be back in a bit, I have to drive home, and I will answer your last post.
