Soccer Season Help

Alrite I have entered the soccer season which means running every day. The last thing i want to do is lose weight, i actually want to bulk. my stats are as follows:
age- 16
weight- 148
height- 6'0

Since the preseason ive seen a significant decrease in my bench press, squat, and deadlift. I have been really tired and not able to do much lifting except my bench because my legs are always sore. What kind of foods should I be eating and how often (times of the day would help a lot) to increase my bench during the soccer season. I had a goal at 225, and ended up missing my 20 lbs. The last thing I want is to make that goal harder then it already is, especially at my weight and age.

first of all, eat alot. And are you running all day on coaches orders? How advanced are you in soccer?

yes, coaches orders on the running, i never run on my own, and i would say that im good at soccer... if thats what you're asking.

Running every day sounds a bit much if you ask me. Skill training is more important..
Anyways, make workouts with high intensity and low volume, and eat like a horse. In a situation like this, I wouldn't be afraid to eat some of the "bad" stuff either.

During football season (american) your hunger is unbelievable. I can eat pizza and lose weight.

are we all not here for the sake of fitness and health?
eating unhealthy=opposite of health

extra calories can come from anything natural...cheese, PB, any nuts...even a salad with cheese, 2tbs flax oil, some peanuts, some chicken can add a lot of calories easily.
liquid calories and a blender can be a good aide too. blending fruit with whey/pb/milk/anything else you want to blend adds cals easily.

eating the bad stuff in at least some moderation probably wont really hurt you but theres not really a good reason why you wouldnt be able to get the cals from something better. why eat crap when you can eat healthy?

pluss, refraining from all the junk food buillds discipline.

ok man i respect your ideas but your goals are clearly different then mine are. I'm not trying to build discipline, if I wanted to, i'd join the army, and i've been eating mass amounts of good foods and lost weight, advanced to all sorts of foods but mostly good foods, and finally, anything that I can eat and I'm still losing weight with the running we do every day and the extra weight training that I'm attempting to do. I'm gunna have to tell you that yes I do care about my health and fitness, but my soccer coach's do not, and therefore I have to fight fire with fire.

Also, my goal is to increase my bench press during the season. If I'm losing weight, and running off muscle, how am I suppose to do that? Thats what it all comes down to.

there's nothing wrong with eating a bit of crap to get extra cals if that's the route you choose. You won't die if you put some ice cream in your shake or whatever if you are active. If you are very active and have to eat alot, well, it can be hard to get 5-6k cals all clean.

Eat more, do fbws 3x a week. If you dont want to lose as much weight, then eat more. You don't necessarily run off muscle, you just will have a harder time gaining it since you're doing endurance activities for soccer. If you do fbws three times a week with a proper diet (a diet with calries ABOVE that of your activity level) you should be alright.

But really, Gaining strength/muscle is something you should do in the off season.

Why are you worried about your bench more than your squat or deadlift?

Strength is mainly a neural thing...work high intensity on your bench, squat, and deadlift and lower intensity but higher volume with accessory movements. And as Karks said, throw in some ice cream with your protein shakes...with your age and activity level, you can afford some junk for some extra calories.

If you can stomach it, hit a gallon of milk a day.

they are? my goals are to gain strength and not loose muscle too

i've been eating mass amounts of good foods and lost weight
so just eat more calories. lol
the biological value and nutrition in what you eat will be based upon the recources you have and your willingness to give up junk

like everyone said above, you just have to eat more calories. if you run out of healthy stuff, then i would agree to eat whatever you have. but when you are eating junk when you have healthy foods on you...your excuse is that you dont want to lose weight

I'm gunna have to tell you that yes I do care about my health and fitness, but my soccer coach's do not, and therefore I have to fight fire with fire.
so what your saying is:
their fire=not caring about your health
so you must fight that fire with your own fire of not caring about your fitness? What?
just so you know, "fighting fire with fire" is using the same weapon(fire) as your adversary

Also, my goal is to increase my bench press during the season. If I'm losing weight, and running off muscle, how am I suppose to do that?
you really dont listen, do you?
EAT MORE CALORIES FROM THE HEALTHIEST SOURSES POSSIBLE!

if you cant give up your junk food, im predicting you will respond with some kind of excuse.
im just telling you to eat healthy, kid. if you dont listen, i cant stop you

You know what I have noticed have tons of calories: Nuts.
Just eat a small box full of nuts..and thats like 980 calories right there..

1oz of most nuts have around 200 calories.
very easy way to get calories in the right way.
peanut butter in a shake>ice cream in a shake
nature has its own weight gainers. no need to eat crap

And you wouldnt say thats overtraining, working 3x a week and running ever morning for 3 months?

evolution- i care about my bench because my legs are tired and sore for squats and deads and sometimes banged up as well. We dont just run, we play which involves running but we usually do some sort of conditioning like HIIT at the beginning and ending of each practice and as punishments. I think that was Karky who said something about focusing on skill.

well, honestly, you could od it 3x a week too. but you're the one that wants to "overtrain" as you are looking to improve strength and do cardio at the same time.

Honestly you should just worry about your sport as you're playing it. I don't see how bench press helps you with your sport as you say you were 20 pounds off of your goal 225, (if you even do it correctly,) then I'd say that's very good compared to soccer players I know.
