A little information about me.
My name comes from the movie, Big Daddy with Adam Sandler, my husband's name is Steve, and our friends call him "Scuba Steve" so of course being married to him, that makes me Mrs Scuba. Has no relation to scuba diving :0).
How this weight issue all started. Back in High School I was 109 lbs. I have always been a huge fan of food, even in high school but back then I guess I just had a good metabolism. I had my daughter 2 years after I graduated and went up to 149. I breastfed and lost about 15 lbs, but I would teeter from 135-149. This was 12 years ago and I am still on the high end of my weight. My turning point was at the end of last year I got to 152 which was more than I weighed when I was 9 months pregnant, I was so upset.
I am looking forward to starting a career in law enforcement (yeah, I know a little old, huh?) and I tried to do the physical and could not pass the running whatsoever. I am supposed to do 18 push-ups in 1 minute, 27 sit-ups in 1 minute and 1.5 mls in 15.2 minutes. I was able to do 18 push ups, 24 sit ups and 1.5mls in 19.17 min. They give you a year to pass, otherwise you have to reapply and go through the process all over again.
I applied in March have been going through a free training with the academy since then on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I started with a trainer in June and work out with him Mon, Wed & Fri. I have re-tried the requirements and the last time I did which was on July 24th I was able to do 32 push-ups, 36 sit-ups and 1.5 mls in 16.13 min. I have improved tremendously but still have not passed the running to move on to the next phase.
I came on this site for motivation and advise.
Losing weight has helped me in all three categories but still need improvement in the running, I don't know what else to do.
I will be posting before and after pics on the Before and After Pic area, I just don't have the pics on hand right now.
Here are my stats:
5'4"
32 yrs old
Starting Weight: 149
Current Weight: 136
Goal Weight: 120
I eat right 90% of the time, and work out 5 days a week, what more can I do? I don't eat pastas, rice, breads and tortillas. I love fruits and vegetables. I have cut out soda from my diet and sweets. If I crave a soda I will have diet but that might be once a month. What more can help me get to my goal weight? I have been stuck at 136 for about 6 weeks without being able to lose anymore. I understand muscle weighs more than fat but now I am feeling discouraged and can't understand whyI haven't lost. Again I started working out and eating right at the beginning of June, so it has been 10-11 weeks since I started. What should be an average (healthy) amount of weight to lose monthly to get to my goal weight and how long should it take me to get there so I do not gain it back?
Any advise will be healpful...........
