is fasting safe

i was thinking about doing a 2 day fast before i go on a diet of chicken and veggies and want to know your opinion im a male 5 foot 11 weigh 204 pounds want to get down to 155
 
No. Your body needs food to function. By fasting you are getting your body prepared to hold on to it's next meal cause it doesn't know when it will get another one.

Work out your maintenance calories then subtract 500, making sure to take into account any physical activity you do throughout the day.

Not only is this better for your body, it will make it much easier to keep the weight off, rather than starving yourself and putting it all back on plus more.

i decided not to do the fasting today is my first day of the diet and im going to eat fruits and vegtebles chicken whole weat bread all the basic health food
 
I actually disagree

I have had several doctors tell me that Fasting is a healthy activity to do. However you should not do this more than once a month at the most often.

It helps the gut clean itself out and gives it time to relax. This also helps clean the system (GI tract) allowing for better movement when you eat again.

However, my doctor said that he does not recommend fasting for more than 24 hours. I would not do it for 2 days.

But once again, ask your doctor. He knows you and your body the best and should be able to give you the best answer.

I am a believer in Chinese medicine and holistic health. Fasting is a regular part of the regimen. We do a 24 hour fast around every 6 weeks and I do feel better after we do it. I wouldn't fast to lose weight and I do skip my workout on fasting days.
