taking rests

from what i researched i found out that whenever i workout a certain part of my muscles i heard that i need at least 2 days of rest before i start working out that part again. is this true?

and how is this possible? upper part of the body is intertwined so it's pretty difficult to do this.

for example, here's my plan.

monday = forearms/traps
tuesday = legs
wednesday = rest
thursday = chest/shoulders
friday = triceps/biceps
saturday = back/abs
sunday = rest

thursdays, fridays im working out my arms 2 days in a row and there's no way i cant avoid this.

ive never workout in my life and this has been my first week.
plz enlighten me.

You could solve this by doing a full body workout on Monday, Thursday and Saturday or and Upper/Lower split (upper Monday/Friday, lower Thursday/Saturday). It's definitely avoidable and you should avoid it. You haven't asked for an opinion on your routine, but this one's tough to answer without giving one - scratch all of the isolation stuff and go with a full body workout. No need for a bicep day.

To summarize my thoughts on this, working arms 2 days in a row isn't an issue if you have a solid routine. That's where you should focus. Just my $.02.

needed recovery time needed depends on many things like genetics, testosterone levels, nutrition, amount of sleep, amount of activity, intensity of the workout

Scratch the entire routine, it's horrible

its usualy 4 days a week. two days with all pushing exercises and two days with all pulling exercises, alternating.

that's also a crappy split.

The upper lower split is a fine split. It is used with great success by a lot of people. (in some ways it is more efficient than a push/ pull split.)

It is also important to note that since you have just started training, everything is going to work.

Your best bet is to pick whatever split you are most comfortable with and focus on learning good form on all of your lifts. You will get results.

Then during the few months that you are doing that you can use the forum in order to learn more about different types of training and make changes to your workout after the initial 3 months or so, based on what you have learned about your body from having a time of consistent training.
