Every day I read a bunch of new member intros and it occurs to me that I never really introduced myself. Given the fact that I'm somewhat devoid of useful things to do at the moment..well, here we are.
I usually go by Devon when I have a choice, though that's actually my middle name, and I'm 21 years old, 5'10" and currently 210 lbs. I tend to mock people incessantly, so try not to take me too seriously. In my defense, though, I almost always try to offer something useful in addition, unless I feel like I don't know enough to contribute.
I think I covered it in my initial journal post, but my health and fitness used to be pretty messed up. I went from fit and healthy when I was a kid to the complete and opposite for the next 6 or so years of my life. Then I had a bit of a "what..the...****" moment at 280 lbs (at about 13 years old). I lost 50'ish lbs, then lost another 40'ish about a year later (through some pretty shady methods - starvation dieting and 3-4 hours of cardio a day). I then maintained (roughly) my weight for a while, lost another 15 lbs at some point..but, when I moved out of my parents' home, I regressed back to 220 over the course of 2 years.
Eventually, I was sitting there going "how the hell did I let myself gain back almost 50 lbs?" Then I was extremely pissed off for days. After I got over that, I figured I'd better stop screwing around and start using some of the knowledge I had soaked up from books, articles, journals and 3 years of lurking in this forum. So far, things are going pretty good...I think.
