Hello! And I need your help.

Ok, I'm new to this, of course. I have so many questions regarding eating more healthy and excersizing. I've been browsing this forum for the past two days, and have already found many answers!!! I hope someone can help me getting started. Here is a little background info on me, and also reasons as to why I want to get into shape and eat better.

1. I just quit smoking 5 days ago. I am 32 years old, and have been smoking since I was 12. I've tried quitting several times before, but now I know that in my mind I'm officially done with cigarrettes. Besides, my 4 year old daughter asked me to quit because she loves me and wants me to live a long life. Awwwww!!!! :)

2. I want to be "fit" and toned. I have a small body frame. Although I have no problem with the body builder type of body, I just don't have the time to dedicate for that and think it wouldn't look right on my small body frame.

3. I'm 5ft 7, and 165 lbs. I have a "beer" gut, or "flat tire" lol! I was always called "skinny Kenny" until my mid 20s. I wore size 27 pants when I was 23, and now wear size 34 pants.

4. I need a workout to start out with that's not too heavy. I want to eventually be able to run a few miles as part of my routine. Also, my stomach and chest are flabby. My legs have always looked great (although stick-ish), even now.

5. Another thing is time. I don't have time to workout 3 hours a day. I am a single father, I work full time, and I also play full time in a band while recording and writing a new record. We gig/tour all the time. I need a workout that I can do while on the road. We're going to be supporting our new record soon, and I won't be able to bring a bench press across the country in a crappy tour bus, lol!

Thanks! And any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi and welcome!

If you have the chance to you should pick up a copy of The New Rules of Lifting: Six Basic Moves for Maximum Muscle, there are several programs that will start you on your course and advance from there.

These two websites also have lists of exercises and templates available for you to browse. They both have good tips and plans that you could start on, but I really do recommend getting NRoL.

You won't need to and shouldn't work out for 3 hours a day anyway ;) One hour or so is sufficient for one day.
Thanks! And any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! I don't know how to post pics, yet. I do have some on my myspace page, and my band's myspace page, but nothing that shows my target areas that need work. I hide the fat really well. If I can figure out how to post some pics, I will show some before and after pics.

Again, thanks to everyone.
