Dumbbell work outs.

ight, for christmas i got the Boflex 552 Dumbbells and there sweet! anyway...do u think i could just stay home and use thoses for workouts such as deadlifts, lunges, and squat stuff? im talking about in the begining just to try and loose fat and put on a bit of muscle, but mostle to loose fat. just asking if they will help loose fat and such...

Thanx!

Resistance training combined with cardio training and a clean diet is the way to go. That said, anything that provides resistance would be helpful - the dumbbells just put the resistance into a convenient package.

Bro you can pretty much do anything you need with the dumbells. Get a cheap flat bech and you are set. I guess it all really depends on your goals. You wont become Schwarzenegger using just bells, but you can def build muscle and be super fit.

Correct me if i am wrong ,which i probably am, but didnt everything start with just dumbbells? I mean, back in the day everything was with free weights.

If i am write, *crosses fingers*, then you can use them at home to get into a better shape and then head to the gym to use equipment.

yea...52.5 i think. I mean dont get me wrong thers ebough weight there to give anybody one heck of a work out. just asking though.

Depends on who you're talking. I wouldnt be able to use that weight for much. Now if you can use them, then by all means. However I think you will soon outgrow them. I prefer the ones at

ok, thanks...ill look in to thoses. I guess ur talking about the like, ones that go up to 130lbs? that definatly sceems cool. are they comfortable when working out?...like not to "bulky" for ur bodys natural movement?

Ironically, the fact that the number of possible lifts is limited with just dumbells will actually help you; it will focus your training and cut out a lot of crap that would otherwise confuse and discourage you.

I prefer the dumbell press to barbell press because it requires more horizontal control (thus more muscles employed), plus no spotter is necessary. For similar reasons, the dumbell row is a quintessential back exercise in my routine. These two exercises are my two main upper body lifts, although I consider pullups and shoulder presses important as well.

Almost all the olympic-style lifts can be done with slight variations with a dumbell.

Shadowboxing with dumbells is always a fun and demanding exercise.

Plenty of exercises popularized in kettlebell routines can be applied to dumbells, though there are important exceptions.

Overall I think the humble dumbell is one the greatest, yet least appreciated, exercise tools to date.

I've been wanting a set of powerblocks for a while. To get a set that I won't outgrow for a while, I would like to get the ones that go up to 90 lbs, those would set me back $667, seeing that you can get complete home gyms for that amount (or less) has prevented me from taking out the good old credit card...

Or you could opt for the plain gray hex dumbbells sold at Dick's Sporting Goods and other places. Just buy as needed - it might cost more in the long run but you'll be spreading it out over a long period of time, and when you want to use a particular weight, you just pick it up and go.

na dude...i saw powerblocks that go up to 130lbs each hand for only like $396? i think....anyway..thanks for everything

I'm going by the information at .

"Elite Set 5-90 $588/pair ($79 S/H) Our most popular Pro Handle in a 90 lb Set!"

sure you can easily lose weight and put on some decent muscle with just dumbbells, but make sure you are using multi-sets (i.e., supersets, trisets, giant sets) with your exercises, and try to not use more than 2 exercises per body part
