Holiday in July, Is this possible...

Ello everyone,

I am 17 going on 18 and I am going on holiday in early July to a well known Greek island.

I am getting some dumbells with total 50kg weight rings to put on them (25kg for each dumbell)

Also getting some weight gain formula, flaxseed oil (to help break down the protein) and some protein shakes.

I am around 125 pounds (56kg) and 5"10(ish)

I am planning to have six-7 meals per day which 3-4 of them will include mainly chicken and tuna salad sandwiches and the other 3 being protein shakes / weight gain formula)

In around 12-16 weeks (3-4 months) does anyone reckon I can gain a few pounds (and roughly on average how much would I be expecting to gain) and tone up a bit with the equipment and supplements I have?

The only problem I have is that it may be difficult consuming a lot of meals when at work, is there a decent way around this? I just thought to take a protein shaker to work!

Thanks!

It's verymuch possible. Read this:

"The Truth about Bulking."

Also, weightgainers are often garbage. Eat whole foods whenever possible, with the exception of a 20g whey isolate protein/40g simple carb (dextrose is best) drink during and after weight training sessions. That's two separate drinks, you sip one during and one after working out. Also, try not to weight train less than 2 hours after a whole food meal.

Do some reading, the search function is there for a reason and will help you. Best wishes. :)

I am male btw.

I am not aiming to become a complete muscle man, that hopefully will be in a few years.

Just looking to tone so that when I take my top off on that busy beach............ you know how it goes from there.... :D

If you follow sound training principles and eat clean, you can gain about 3-4 lbs of muscle a month. It's easier as a beginner, and gradually becomes more difficult, same as fat loss. You seem like you have a healthy perspective and reasonable goals, I think you'll do well. Just do the reading and git'er'done. :)

..and who doesn't want to look better for the ladies (or guys)? Shiet. :D

Without getting all technical, with few exceptions, the more processed a food is the less healthy.

Ie. the more steps between it going from its natural form to your mouth, the worse.

An apple has 1 step, from the tree into your mouth.
Apple sauce has a couple of steps = not as good.
Apple Pie has a ****load of steps (including all the processing done to the ingredients of the crust).

That general idea. Yes, it takes longer to digest, and everything in it is better for you. Meal replacements, protein bars, weight gainers..they're usually low quality protein and crap carbs and a bunch of messed up fats. Knowing what I do now, I can't even consider eating them. I feel nauseous just looking at them in the convenience store. :p

A lot of people who decide to get healthy overuse protein supplements and especially processed simple carbs (sugars of various kinds). They have a specific use, and that's around the workout period. Besides, eating craploads of supplements instead of food gives many people digestive problems.
