Hey guys, My name is Zak and I have a confession to make here. I am fat, yeah like most people on this forum, I am looking out there for the answer, which lies under my nose. Determination. Now, last year i was really determined to loose 100lb and I was on a good stage losing about 40lb untill christmas came and it absolutly went downhill from that. Now all that hard work I did last year I just put back on over the summer. Now Im looking towards the up coming summer and its up to me to loose the weight.



I am 5ft10" and weigh now 289 from this day. At the moment I have recovered :D from my ligament damage in my ankle so no more excuses. (due to playing football(soccer). Its time for me to shed the pounds. Now I know what to do and how to loose it. I am going to make a twitter account for people to follow me and ill just follow them back to keep my self and also the public on what im doing. I might make a video diary on youtube that people could follow, but was unsure to create one weekly. Obviously this is not only just for my benifit but also for other people out there who are in the same situation than me. Of course this won't be easy and there will be times that I wanna eat that burger etc. But I will fight that away and hopefully do my bit for the world aswell.

I'll follow you on Twitter right now, I had also created a twitter account for tracking progress but to be honest once I saw a tweet that lead me to this place I started to find that using twitter was much less effective than the forum here.


Twitter is ok for posting a short blurb here and there and getting a little interaction with people but between the character limit constraints and trying to filter out all the noise the value can get a little lost.


The forum has a few advantages as you can use it to keep track of goals and progress and get more feedback by a community that is far more focused on the same goals than twitter from my experience.


Look forward to your posts here as well as your tweets...

Yeah of course ill set up weekly blogs for myself personally ill do that on sundays so feel free to follow, ill follow yours too. At the moment the forum looks abit dead, looking at my topic for example lol, but maybe its the time difference between here in theuk and the u.s.

Could be the time difference or might be the number of threads being started in this forum. Seems like we both started here in the busy month as a whole new crew of people started out in January. Wonder what it will be like in March? I personally found that after spending some time reading so of the other threads and interacting with the other thread starters here that I could relate to everyone here on the forum.


At the end of the day, the important thing for us all is to find something that works for us and helps provide motivation.
 
Hey guys, Its me again,


Its been a very good week for me, Had my six days of strict meals with today being my cheat day. Even though it was my cheat day, I walked around the shop with a few friends, I was tempted into buying chocolate bags, but I remembered all this hard work would go if I bought this. So my friend bought his cakes, and chocolates, where as I went to the fruit section and salad section to get a munch from there. But being my cheat day, I did take a nibble at his cake so that I wouldn't get tempted in the future. Haha, although i did buy a cheeky werthers. But shared it amongst my friends.


When I started I was a staggering 289, Weight my self in last night and became 266lb. Now, when I started this journey on Monday I was 276lb, So all in all lost 10 pounds which is a good week.

Now to My diet which I kept on my phone every night.


Monday - Tuna and Cucumber Sandwich, Tesco light sandwich, 2 Active Danone. Bag of Grapes, two tiny hobnobs from my friends chocolate bag. Chicken with lettuce anc cucumber, 2 lts of water


Tuesday - Oatmeal with semi skimmed milk, Tuna with lettuce, cucumber and onion, Mixed fruits, Whole chicken without the skin.


Wednesday - Oatmeal, Egg mixed with onion and tomato, Baked Beans eaten with a tortilla wrap from weight watchers, chicken pieces with potato, mixed fruits, 2 lts of water and a cup of team.


Thursday - Oatmeal with semi skimmed milk, Tuna salad with cucumber, 1 small chicken nugget


Friday - Tuna and cheese bagguete, 3 apples, 1 small tropicana, 3 small chicken strips without the skin, bite of mums pancake and litre of water.


Saturday - 3 apples, one banana, 3 eggs scrambled with onion and tomato, litre and a half of water.


Sunday - Oatmeal, Veggie mix with chicken, Chicken salad, small cake, mixed fruits, werthers (like 5 sweets). Water.



Now, I know that I don't eat a lot, but this is because sometimes i dont have the time because of football that I play.


Now, I did Gym 3 days, with intense cardio and then straight onto weights doing as much as possible. 3 Other days I would play 5-a-side football for like ages!


Today was my rest day, sat down did nothing. But I lost 10 pounds and I am happy with that. Notice I try to take minimum amount of carbs as possible.

Hi guys,


Its week two now and its looking pretty good. Weighed in today in the morning and weighed in at 259.7lb So I am pretty happy with meeting my target. Although it wasn't as much weight loss as last weel. I am really suprised though as I just did two days of exercise, Monday and Saturday. :/ I am not complaining though. I have what I ate on the phone and need to charge that so as soon as that is charged ill show what I ate.


Next week that is coming will be very tough to even go gym as I have deadlines for my assignments. But I will do my best to try and lose as much as possible. If i lose even 2kg, i will be pretty pleased. Looking foward to the next weigh in. :drool5:

Hi guys,


Its my third week now and this has been the hardest it has gotten. I had alot of deadlines and to be honest I have not even exerfcised throughout the whole week so I expected not to lose a lot of weeight if anything none. But this is where mentallity starts to kick in and I hope you people reading this will give ,me support but im asking myselfdo I really need to lose weight. But anyway I have hit 257lb which im not too fussed about as I havnt exercise at all, but this week im hitting it hard, work out and what I eat and hopefully will be 252lb. I will be pleased with that result. anyway, untill next week and remebrr to share your thoughts, thanks

Just remember it's not a sprint... following the first couple weeks the weight loss will slow but as long as you continue to work off the solid plan you have the weight has no choice but to come off. The only thing that can get in your way at the end of the day is you.


I've found that as the weight loss slows, tracking other things that you have more control over like reaching activity based goals has been a big help.
 
True say buddy, but the thing is when you seeyour fridnds getting a juicy take away and you are likd if only I was my old self. but last week was really a test of character, becsause if I was to be weak I probs wouldve been like aah what the hell have this and have thst. but thanks for replying anyway, dnt grt much recognition in my thread lol :cheers2:

Havn't posted anything since two weeks because of me slacking last week. I didn't lose or gain weight last week so was pretty disappointed with that but i thought to myself and knew that i had to step it up a notch. Ate as less carbs as i could. Control my portions of intake again, and absolutly beast the gym. This is what exactly i have done and from 257.8, got my self down to 250.8. This is pretty good if you ask me, and I am soooo looking forward to next week's weigh in. Ate clean, cut the processed food and hit gym hard. Worked out definitly. Anyway, next week i am carrying on from this week and hopefully will be seeing the 240 marks :D.

Hey guys its ya boy Zak!


This week has been pretty much the same like last week, apart from me eating a bit unhealthier. Been to the cinema lately on wedensday and had a Ice blast tango with ben and jerry;s ice cream. Also i have recently been eating a lot more weatabix bitesize chocolate thinking its good for me. Clearly not. Exercises has been more or less the same as last week, apart from me adding much more intensity i.e. increasing the weights which I do. But I still feel good, but the scale doesn't lie and it shows that I have lost only a pound! Pretty dissapointed with this result to be honest.


Just need to make sure that I stick to my oatmeals in stead of weetabix bitesize because while it wasn't good for me, I really enjoy eating it. But yeah this is out the picture, however eating tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches will still stay as its very filling for lunch times and contains decent amount of protein and less saturated fat. Other than that, like I said lost only a pound. Exercises have been done a lot, Oh yeah, had a whole panini to my self with a kinder bueno :icon_bs: and a chicken balti pie actually :icon_bs: so won't be suprised if I gain a pound from that in its self :( But I did get in the 240's so pretty happy about that.


Will be much more careful on what I eat this week especially after losing next to nothing and definitly try and make up from this weeks mistakes.

Congrats on getting under 250 lbs, always nice to see that second digit in the weight move down another notch. Looks like you're closing in on the 40 pound mark so it's got to feel good and the clothes must be getting pretty loose by this point.


Sounds like your workouts are pretty intense and I imagine it causes a big hunger. Eating outside the house can be pretty challenging, haven't been to the cinema since in the past few months and can imagine the trouble it would cause me to be overwhelmed with all those smells in the lobby.


You've definitely got the right attitude towards last week's slips putting them behind you and starting back refreshed. In the long run, how we slip up on any one day doesn't make much difference as long as the majority of days remain on track.

Posting from my tablet so excuse the mistakes lol. this week i was back on th whole eat oatmeal instead of chocolate weetabix lol and its gone pretty well. ive not quite hit thetartget but was very close. weighed in this morning and was 244.4. definitely happy with that. however I did have a dirty meal on Wednesday. paneer bhurji with two chapati and three whole slices of pizza. I was so stuffed it was unbelievable. but I did feel bad and over the next day I destroyed my self in the gym and outside to the point where I could still feell it today lol. Anyway next week im gonna be a bitambitious but I wanna hit the 230's lol.


However, I did sprain my finger so atm cant to weight training. but I will be very happy if I do and might reward myself with something lol haha. but ill continue on from a computer cuz this is hard to seperate lol.

Sounds like a killer week and great result. The dirty meal probably did you a lot of good as a refuelling day.

Yeah, it probably did, hahaBut this is weird the more I eat (e.g. clean no garbage lol) the more I lose. maybe I also realised the less I would eat the less I would lose. Hmmm strange. Anyway thanks for popping over and commenting :D
 
Yeah. I think a lot of people out there are eating way too few calories and after a while it catches up.


Have to work on that one myself so going to aim to fit in a few hundred extra clean calories a day for the next few weeks with the increased exercise and strength training.

Didn't post for two weeks, due to me being very busy. Had a lot of assignments to give it making it harder for me to post on here even if it takes 5 minutes to log on lol.


This up coming four weeks will be the most important in my life in terms of university and also physique. Was in the shower, and like everyone else, i was more into thinking rather than cleaning lol. I have my final year project, another assignment worth 50% and also revision for up coming exams in the future. Now, I will be getting rid of my Playstation, so no Fifa for 4 weeks :(. Im looking to hit my goal which is to be under a 100kg by the start of may. At the moment I am currently sitting on 108/7KG which is around 238 pounds. Now hopefully when I read this I can motivate my self and stay on track. Pumping them irons in the gym is the key for me, as cardio training is a bit too boring for me. Apart from Football which I think I have definitely increased my stamina. Don' get as tired.


Anyway, I will be hones, this week and last week, I literally ate like SH** . There was two birthday parties last week, and I ate a lot of curries bread etc etc, at this point I was 112kg, I was absolutly pi**ed off with myself. I remember it was a thursday when this all ended so, from thursday till Monday I abselutly destroyed the gym with heavy weights and also circuit training (I like this as it gets you tired and sweating like a pig!). So I think at this point I weighed in at 109KG. Which is about 240.3 pounds. Now this week, I again went out for bday's etc but this time I stayed clear of all the rubbish and ordered grilled food, (Apart from yesterday where I went to a buffet and stuffed my face in with Sh*t). But seriously, I need to control my self with what I eat. In actual fact that was yesterday so Ill weigh my self in now and tell you how much I am. By the way this week I didn't gym once, didn't exercise but still lost weight. Pretty happy with that :D


But all in all, i am going to reach that go no matter what!

Great job Zak!


I've been upping my calorie intake as I've started running and planning to hit up a 10k run next month. This running thing is going to make it harder to hold onto lean body mass so my weight loss is likely going to slow down for the next few weeks which is fine.


I'll still be losing a pound or two a week so keep hitting the gym or you might find yourself heavier than me in a month or two ;)

Progress is going all good just like I want it to go. Still eating healthy and try and avoid as much bad carbs as possible. I'm currently sitting on 233.3lb and people can definitly see change within me. It's April now, and hopefully when I read this in May, I can say I reached my goal of under a 100kg by 1st of May. At the moment, I am bang on target on getting that, but I'll have to be focused for the weeks to come, especially as I have my final year project, coursework and revision to do for exams this month and next.


Still going 4 days out of 7 to the gym doing weight training, and also combining cardio with that (Circuit training with body weight). But until next week, good day!

Sounds like another great week in the books. An aggressive goal for the end of the month but I'm sure you'll give it a good go.
