Your new eating habits, whats changed?

So as most of us have gradually began changing our nutrition and eating habits I am sure we've noticed changes in our taste buds, energy levels, over all feeling of your body etc.

In the past when I've "dieted" or gotten back to a healthier nutrition, I realize after awhile that my body can't tolerate the "junk" I ate before. Esp. this holiday season, I noted my stomach being fuller much sooner than normal, and my intolerance for too many sweets or junky over processed foods. I also probably over did it a few times with things, that I normally don't eat on a day-to-day basis. I found I was literally exhausted and worn out over the holiday. Granted visiting people and running around played a portion of it, but I could tell that eating that way really was dragging me down.

Did anyone experience this and find it helped you pick up better food selections for your dinner plate? :) I know it sure did for me!

I can't tell you how my eating habits have changed this past year!!

I bought a container of fudge 2 wks ago. I still have the whole cont. which is amazing in itself. My daughter brought it to me upstairs and I put in on my nightstand. Normally I would lay in bed at night and have a piece or two before going to sleep. Now I can't even think of doing such a thing!

I can't tolerate certain foods anymore either. I can have a piece of two of pizza, but thats it. Anything more I get sick.

Theres alot more, but I wont mention them all. I'm really glad I'm making better choices! I feel 100% better b/c of it!

I've noticed that I feel full much sooner than I used to. I am no longer a member of the Clean Plate Club because with all of the water I drink that's just not possible. I also noticed like newbride02 that if I go overboard with certain foods I get this queasy feeling in my stomach. Especially cookies and fried foods. I look back on how horrible my eating habits used to be, I could eat a whole box of Little Debbie cakes in one sitting. I can't imagine doing that now. I wound definately puke, yuck!

mind over eating

i have changed as well. i believe we all have face the fact we are changing our lives for the good by loosing this weight, so we don't want to eat as much so we don't get back in the same boat as we were before. we are drinking more water, and saying no to seconds and the really unhealthy stuff that with out think we would just eat. we have trained not just our bodies to be healthy but our minds as well. and that's a good thing.

the biggest change to my eating habits over the past 4 months is really quantity.. and variety.. before iwould have a big piece of salmon (like huge portion -- 16 ounces) and nothing else.. now i'll have a piece of salmon that's maybe 5 ounces.. with broccoli on the side.. i'm also much more mindful of sodium. I never used salt in the past.. but i never much paid attention to the sodium in foods -now i do..

I use to just eat but now it's like analyze everything before I do. Even if it's something I shouldn't eat I'm still considering the calories.

I'm the same as Hillbillylee, I analize everything I put in my mouth now. I used to (and I shame myself now for this) eat those kraft macaroni packets that you do up in the microwave... I won't even feed them to my son anymore, and I've only been at this for about two weeks and a day. I know I crave things that I shouldn't have, but now I don't act on those cravings. Oh, I almost forgot, I now avoid my favorite greek/italian restaurant. They made the best Philly cheese steak...:(

I just started the calorie counting thing but I've been trying to eat better quality foods for the past 3 or 4 months. (i.e., fresh instead of canned or prepackaged, eat at home instead of out, organic when possible) I noticed I crave different things than before fruit & veg instead of chocolate. (I've had an unopened bag of Mini Hershey's Kisses in my purse for over a week now!)

Also, I had a serving of Sonic Mozzarella sticks for lunch today and right now my stomach hurts soo bad I could cry. That never happened when I was eating crappy. And! canned, processed fools do that to me now too (canned raviolis are now the devil!)

I could go on...

How have my eating habits changed?

* Smaller portions.
* Adding more fruit and vegies as snacks.
* Learning to cook in smaller portions.
* Limiting myself to one cheat day a week.

I've almost eliminated chocolate and ice cream out of my diet. In two months I've only cheated 3 times--I thought that I would crave it a bunch but I haven't. Of course now that I'm thinking about it I'm like 'ummmm chocolate'. I've also found a liking for salads---crazy I know but I do like the feeling I get from eating a really yummy salad.
Oh, I've stopped wasting all my calories on soda--I'd rather eat them than drink them. :)

I guess that's about it.

me? I love fresh stuff now, boxed dinners and breaded frozen stuff make me cringe now, but before i loved them!!! Also i get fuller faster, limiting portions is becoming way easier, and now i love and want my water, cold and icey water!!!!
