Young Single Mum wanting to lose 40lbs!

Hi there :)

My name is Rebecca, I'm 21 years old and I'm back on the weight loss track (hopefully for the last time) to lose 40lbs and get to a healthy happy weight.

My goal, and what I have been before, is 140lbs. However, I've had a baby since the last time I was here. He was 10lbs at birth so my stomach hasn't sprung back to normal and I hold a lot of excess skin there, unfortunately. He's worth it though. :)

If I find that I get to a happy weight before I reach 140lbs, I'll be happy stopping and maintaining that weight.

Good luck to everyone. Wish me luck!

Hey Rebecca and welcome to the forums. Gratz on your baby too :) You've made a good decision in coming back and hopefully you will have enough time to visit often since this forum is such a great motivator.

Good luck with your program.

Congrats!

Hey Rebecca,

Congrats on your journey towards weight loss and great health! You have some great goals and you can achieve them.

Always remember and review your WHY! Why you are embarking on your journey and what your goals are. Put your WHY in places you see every day, like your bathroom mirror, fridge, etc. If you always know and review your WHY you will find yourself sitting at the top of the mountain of a goal!

Good Luck and if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Sam, C.P.T. Health Consultant

EDIT: Ok, so you are a personal trainer.

You are coming here trying to show that you are an expert and I'd like to know more about someone brand new throwing titles out like that. Sorry if you think this is a rude statement but understand we get soo man people throwing that out there and all they want to do is try and get new clients or sell a book.

Excuse me?

That is a very rude statement. I found out about this forum from one of my clients. I am by no means an expert, but wouldn't it be nice for people to hear and get information from someone who practices this as a profession and has for over 15 years. Sorry, but I know if I was looking to lose weight, I would like to hear a personal trainers or a fitness professional's insight.

These are all opinions and that is what makes forums great. We can read what people are saying, maybe help and good comes out. I don't need to be dragged under the bus by you. After all, I am a new member and can quickly leave this forum.

Very rude and unprofessional!

Yup, what I figured you would say.

The thing is, we don't know who you are other than what you claim. I can claim to be a trainer too. It doesn't mean I am one. Every day the mods are having to delete threads and posts from 'experts' trying to sell things or push their book or try to get clients. How about you introduce yourself first and maybe gain some trust?

I haven't claimed anything. I gave this new mom a little advice, stuff I use my self to keep me on track. Why are you interrupting a conversation? This person wants to accomplish her goals? Why is this about you? Who are you?

I have a full schedule of clients, not looking for more.

Why are you dragging me down? You are claiming you have lost 50 lbs... How do I know you have, and why would I want to take your advice? Just because you have 2700 posts, doesn't mean you know what you are talking about or you are for real. Who are you?

Extremely rude and unprofessional. If there is a person I can report you to, I will if you keep harassing me and interrupting peoples conversations. Have I peddled a book or asked anyone to be my client? No, so stop harassing me and making me feel very uncomfortable about this forum. If I peddle a book or ask someone to be my client, or spam this forum, then I would expect you to question me.

Anyways Rebecca, sorry this conversation got interrupted. I hope and wish all the luck in your weight loss goals!!! I was excited about this forum, got a bad taste in my mouth now. Take care

Well first, anyone is allowed to comment on any post or any statement in the forum. It is a public forum.

Second, if you think what I am asking is harassing, then you can send feedback or a PM to AllCndBoy as he is the owner of the site.

Third, the title you placed after your name implies you are an expert, or at least a professional in your field. My question was a valid one in asking who you are and what your training actually is. If one comes here laying that out there then I'd like to know more about the actual training. Did you go to medical school or did you just take a course? Again, we have too many come here saying what you are saying with certain motives.

As far as who I am..Hi I am Ken. I have lost about 50 pounds over the course of the year. Who I am is stated in several of my posts. I am also one of the mods.

PS: Calling me unprofessional really doesn't mean anything here since I'm not a professional.

Heya,
I'd like to butt in here for a second. As far as knowing what C.P.T. stands for stands for, we are fairly familiar as we have a couple of regulars on the forum who are also professionals.

Sorry of you find the tactics cynical, as i am sure you are aware, there are literally hundreds of scammers a day taking advantage of overweight people with various pills and potions. We generally get a lot of posts which seem almost identical to the one you posted and spend a lot of time dealing with these, and deleting things.

We're fine if you want to hang out, we generally do not endorse any wild diets, fast, detox or unsafe methods for weight loss.
The adverts are there purely to support and pay for the forum, you will notice once you login most are gone. Feel free to suggest a paywall to the forum owner, id happily pay to remove them (though, im somewhat blind to them nowdays).

Links in sigs are not tolerated at all with new users, except to a blog perhaps with no adverts. the longer somebody hangs about, the more we get to know them and give a little tolerance.
Those of us who have been here forever and mods generally have a lot more leeway.

I think what Jericho is generally saying is, check out other threads, what people say, and how things work :)

Welcome to the forum, we look forward to your helpful advice
