:) Hello everyone. My name is Stephanie. I am a 24yr. old mom of three kids ages 4,3 and 2. I guess you could say that I'm not really a new mom but I am still having trouble loosing the extra 50lbs. that I put on. Before I had my three kids I was 123lbs. with a nice shapely figure. From being pregnant three years in a row and poor eating habits I am now at a disturbing 180lbs. give or take a few. After a had my first son ( I think I should mention the fact that he weighed 10lbs.10oz.) I didn't have to work really hard to loose a reaaly good amount of weight. But each pregnancy after that (even though the babies were a whole lot smaller) it seemed harder and harder to loose the weight. I miss my old shape. I think that it's bad enough that because of all the stretch marks I'll never be able to dress like I used to. But it would still be nice to wear tight fitting clothes again. But since I'm complaining I'll admit that a lot of these pounds have come out of my bad habits. I'll admit it I'm a carb lover. And it is because of my own problems with being consistent and having self controll that I am ashamed to say I haven't had much progree in recent years. But while I am still trying I am open to anyones suggestions. PLEASE HELP!!!:(

Hi! Fellow mom here, I have a 2 yr old and a 8 yr old girls.

There are many different diets out there, but if you like carbs, maybe you can stick to a 1200-1500 cal diet. The main point of that, is that you dont' go above 1200-1500 cals. You try to choose the healthiest foods, esp b/c they are low in cals, but if you have some pasta, or chocolate, just count the cals towards your total :D

let me know if you have any questions!

Oh I feel your pain. I can totally relate to you. I gained 50lbs before I got pregnant and another 50 while I was pregnant and now instead of a smaller problem I feel like I will never get to my goal weight.

I follow the weight watchers program. You don't count calories per say but points instead. According to your weight you are given a set amount of points that you are to consume duing the day. Weight watchers pretty much follows the food guide (pyramid). There is also the core program where you can eat anything you want off of a set list of food choices which is a pretty large list.

I don't actually go to the weight in or the meetings because it became too expensive for me but I follow the program none the less. It does become annoying after a while to count points all of the time but after a while you begin to know what foods have way to many points and what foods you can consume without penalty. It opens your eyes up as to how you have been eating.

If you wanted to start slowly start walking for 30-45 minutes 3 times a week and just cut out some fat intake. Butter and oils are a great way to do that. I love bread but I stopped putting butter on it. When I cook I stopped putting butter or oil in the frying pan and lightly mist with Pam or use nothing at all. Those little adjustments may help you start.

The hardest part is getting yourself in the frame of mind. I find it is the hardest to get through the first three days. Once I get past that then I'm laughing. I also like to give myself a free day in which I don't worry about counting points or what I am eating. The key is one day only then you go right back on your program the very next day.

I hope some of what I have said is helpful.

You have already taken the first step.

same here...doing ww - counting points not carbs - and BOY am I a carb lover - but I can still have carbs - but you learn how much per portion.

South Beach Diet is good too - you cut ALL carbs for 2 weeks - basically starve your body of all of it - when I did it - I extended this no carb phase for an extra 2 weeks - then I only allowed myself 50 carbs a day -

ALWAYS eat a salad to fill yourself if your hungry

pick on carrots and celery instead of...

eat an apple instead of...
