Yet another good reason to excersize

We all know that excersize is important, thats nothing new. But in Psy. today I did learn something new (at least new to me) As you age, your body functions decline (duh) but I was told that starting at age 25, your body declines at 10% per decade...however, with regular excersize you can slow down the process to a 2% decline! That really amazed me.

I know that exercise and especially strength training are both extremely effective against osteoporosis... and helpful against arthritis as well...

Strength training aids in flexibility, posture improvement, increased bone density, lots of good things

What do you mean by decline?

you know, decline...as in not working as well as it did at its peak time...which is from 20-35, after that parts of your body starts slowing down or slowly deteriorating...muscle tissue, kidney function, nervous system, ect.

I think that there's more than enough anecdotal evidence to support that little factoid.

There may even be enough to support a "regenerative properties" theory for late-onset exercise and healthy-living; supported by the thousands of "'boomer's" that discover exercise and healthy living once they've departed from the rat-race and now "feel 20 years younger" and the like.

It'd be awesome if you could find a link to that article.
Good find!

Cuz you're a big cutie pie who never has a lack of willing females (or malesfor that matter) willing to scratch your back for you - it's the claw marks you just have to watch out for - ooooh james :D

As a 25-year-old, I am suddenly getting slightly depressed that my body is about to start declining!

I hear ya. I'm 26 and for the first time in years i couldnt keep up with my younger, healthier, brother (nicknamed "stringbean" by my family). :ack2:

I suggest starting a Journal to document your steps toward a healthier lifestyle. :)

GL!
