Hey everbuddy! My name is John, I live in Texas and work at a radio station as a Program Director/ Music Director and DJ. I am a married father of three teenagers, and have fought my weight all my life. I am ready to make some lifestyle changes, but I am honestly not worried about the numbers. I do not know how much I weigh and I do not care. I want to lose enough weight until I feel good about myself. I am a musician, and am pursuing that goal as a career. That said, I really need to look good on stage, but my primary motivation is health! I'm not getting any younger (38 years old), and I can really forsee many health problems in the not-too-distant future if I don't get control of this! I am now about 120 - 130 pounds over what I want to be at. Again, I'm not about the numbers. I'm just giving you all an idea of exactly how over weight I am. I stand 6'7" so the weight doesn't look as great as it really is, but I am starting to have some serious knee problems, etc that I think will go away with less weight to carry about! I have never done a weight loss forum, but I'm looking forward to your insight and helping others as well.

Welcome to the site. You certainly seem movitated to me!
I know what you mean about "numbers". I chose my goal weight based on a recommended age/height thing, but am not entirely sure what my specific goal weight will be now, but I hope to know it when I get there. You could set short term goals of 5 or 10 lbs, just so you can mark your progress and feel satisfied in reaching them.
