World Water Day: Take a Walk for Water

Hope this isn't a repeat. But I just came across this in an email sponsored by StarBucks.

They have only a few cities participating, but they also have a virtual walk that you can still "participate" and show support.

The Walk For Water is inspired by the 3-6 mile journey women and children make every day in water stressed countries. The time spent fetching water for their families prevents them from pursuing an education, maintaining their households or earning additional income.
Walk for Water to draw attention to the world water crisis. The modest acts of many can make an extraordinary difference.

idon't fully understand the virtual walk -other than they will put your name in a jug...

I know, I didn't quite understand the "virtual" part of it either, but I guess it's more for raising awareness than anything else.

Good for you for walking 6 miles!

Sounds like a cool idea, but it doesn't seem to reach my side of the world. The Virtual Walk is cool though, so I may put my name towards the cause.
