Maybe you should start with some Body Weight workouts. You can build muscle and get lean by doing them. 3 days a week. Check out Craig Ballantynes BodyWeight workouts in the store.

That is the only way you will be able to get a balanced workout.

There are several gymless workouts you can use...

Death by Bodyweight
Never Gymless
and Larrabee's suggestion.

None have been criticized.

With them, you could add weight through holding a BB or DBs or carrying a loaded backpack.

If you have limited equitment its best to do BW workouts, unless you have enough DB's (up to 80 or 90 lbs) to work with.

i kno, and i AM going to put together a body weight workout, i am planning to save my money to buy more weights in the future, and for future reference i wanna kno which would be better...thanks...

Then DB. But either way BW workouts are a great alternitive to cardio.

HHG, what is the components of your gym in detail. What are the weights for your dumbbells? What kind of barbell set do you have? What's the plates? What kind of bench?

an adjustable bench with a barbell stand, the barbell is idk a regular chrome one...two dumbbells that u can adjust, and i have a weight set of maybe 150 pounds, which is just enough to put 100 on the bar and 25 each dumbbell for a couple exercises per workout, but most of the time if i want to add more it involves changing the weighton the db and barbell many times...thats y i wanted to kno if i should just increase the sets of those exercises or add more and add more exercises thus increasin the rest between sets to like a couple minutes...

Is is solid metal? I mean, solid to the core? It sounds like it may be a standard weight set, as opposed to an olympic. A standard weight set has one inch holes in the plates.

Are the plates metal or vinyl?

two dumbbells that u can adjust,

Chrome handles with screw on collars?

I think you have enough weight to start with, but you'll definately need heavier later on. Does your set have 25lb plates? The one thing missing that you really should have is some sort of rack for doing squats off of. you might be able to fashion one, but a well-built rack is worth the money.

i actually have two smaller weight sets, half are vinyl and half are metal..the dumbbells are plastic and have screw on collars...and the heaviest weight plates i have are 15 pounds...if i had the money i would go to the store to purchase a couple 25 pound plates and a coulple 10s as well...but im short on cash...i do wish i had a squat rack, but like i said money is an issue, im only 15 so i dont have any job just yet...altho as a bit of good news im takin weight training nxt school year so soon ill have a whole gym as my disposal...but still i would like to have a good plan to use at home with the equipment i have...

Then take this as an opportunity to learn about the basic six movements and get their form down proper:

Squat: quad dom/lower body push
Deadlift: hip dom/lower body pull
Bench press: upper body horizontal push
Bent over row: upper body horizontal pull
Shoulder press: upper body vertical push
Pull-ups: upper body vertical pull

Those six compound moves and their variants hit probably 80% of the muscle in your body. Learn to do them right.

Here is a good site for seeing them done right (provided by Mike Robertson):
