Workout regimen for massive fat loss?

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and I hope some friendly advice can help me. I am 24 years old, 5'10", and 350 lbs. I have tried all the fad diets and I do loose 20-30 lbs but gain it all back plus some very quickly. I have been seriously considering LapBand surgery but I would like to give the traditional way one last chance before I go under the knife.

Can anyone please give me some suggestions on diet? I just joined a gym but I have no clue as to what equipment to use, what days to do certain workouts, how many reps, amount of weight, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
B

Weight loss

You know, the workout is only 30% of the necessary effort needed to see true and permanent gains. This would be a lengthy conversation, so I have to ask you some questions first.
1) what is your current diet plan?
2) what is your current workout plan?
3) how much time do you have to dedicate to fitness each week?
4) do you have the funds available to by a small amount of suppliments and more importantly whole foods?
5) do you have any medical conditions that would limit your ability to engage in physical activity?

Your new you is VERY possible, it just takes dedication and motivation. Both are mental attributes which cost nothing !! You can't ask for a better deal than that. Surgery should always be a last resort. Feel free to e-mail me at john_mcquirk@yahoo.com. I am extremely familiar with all the machines in the gym, so that is the easy part.

Agreed. I finally decided to lose weight about 6 months ago, and through a diet plan and daily walking, I've managed to lose 60 lbs.

You have to totally dedicate yourself. Unless you have some sort of medical condition, or you've been trying hard to lose weight with no results, surgery shouldn't be an option.
