Working Out with Bronchitis???

I've had a case of acute bronchitis since January 4th. It has been improving since then, but I still have a bit of irration and still get coughing attacks a few times a day. I also have a bit of a runny nose too. Just before Christmas right up till New Years eve I started a double workout routine that included hypertrophy weight training and 20 mins of HIIT on the treadmill in the AM and 45 mins of steady pace treadmill with a steep incline in the late afternoon early evening. I was on a role and determined to drop 15-20 pounds by March 7th, but when I acquired bronchitis, I had no choice but to stop working out. I'm pissed off and frustrated! I feel like I have no control. Anyway, my question is should I wait until it's completely and 100% gone before I go back into the gym, or you think it's okay to go back at this point? Again, I still have a bit of irration, still get coughing attacks a few times a day, and have a bit of a runny nose.

Are you on antibiotics and such?

Might go for a longer, steady state cardio rather than HIIT. You really don't want to beat up the lungs while they are trying to get oxygen into the bloodstream through the bronchial infected cells.
 
No antibiotics...I've been laid off, currently seeking employment, and therefore have no health benefits currently.

These bad coughing attacks suck! I still have that very annoying itchy feeling deep in my throat that causes about a half dozen coughing attacks a day. I hate the idea of having coughing attacks in the gym.

So you're saying I should just do the 45 min steady pace treadmill workout that I normally do in the late afternoons/early evenings, and just leave it at that until I'm completely healed? Are you certain that even that won't irritate it. I'm so afraid to take a chance, but yet I hate that I stuck resting all the time for the past 2-3 weeks.

I really wanted to drop 15-20 pounds by March 7th, and now because of this bronchitis, I'm running out of time! :(
