My name is Nick, I'm 21 years old and I'm trying to lose weight. I weigh about 200, the most I've ever weighed in my life. I have just started working out again and I was hoping someone here could help me figure out exactly what I should be doing to maximize efficiency. I'll start with my workout routine. Every Mon, Wed, and Fri I got to a boxing gym and spend about an hour and a half there with a trainer. This includes heavy bag, ring work, speed bag, push ups, sit ups and chin ups. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I go to a non-boxing gym and I ride the exercise bike for half an hour (three minutes pedaling almost as hard and fast as I can, one minute pedaling slowly and resting, similar to a boxing workout) and after that I run one mile at 6.5 miles an hour. My diet includes cereal or yogurt for breakfast, lunch is generally a sandwich (usually peanut butter and honey), a piece of fruit and sometimes a small amount of trail mix. Dinner is always variable but I try to eat small portions when I'm eating dinner. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas in order for me to maximize my weight loss or is this a sufficient program? Thanks a lot! P.S. My girlfriend just broke up with me so my motivation level is high so don't be afraid to lay it on thick.
