Will weight training affect growth?

Hi all.
I am 15 and just 5"5.
I would love to do weight training and build up on my muscle strength and endurance but I am worrying that doing weights at this age might affect my height growth.
Well, many professional weightlifters are considerably short after all >_>

So, I was just wondering if I should start weight training regularly and whether it will stunt my growth.
Hope you guys can provide some answers
Thanks :)

Well, pro bodybuilders aren't short because they lift weights...they make it to the pro level because they are short, and lift weights. 5lbs of muscle is more visible on 5'5" frame than a 6'0" frame.

you are 15, so you're getting very close to full height, barring any sort of hormonal issue that's holding you back (I assume your parents aren't both 6'5"?)
weight training doesn't stunt growth, but if you're too young, it can affect the growth plates in your bones.
you're almost out of the age range where that's even a possibility. As long as you avoid heavy One Rep Max training for another year or two, you'll be fine.

stick to the 5-12 rep range and you'll be fine. more importantly, eat right.
