will protein powder make me bulky?

Hi everyone i have a question for you guys i have gained weight since my last baby and am on the road to loosing the weight but i have took up drinking a protein powder in the mornings with my breakfast fast because i have naturally very low iron and protein and the pills werent helping. So my question is will i get fatter taking the protein powder?

Without knowing what brand your using it's hard to know what the nutritional profile is. "Bulky" happens when your caloric intake is in excess of your expenditure. Are you using it for a meal replacement (MRP) or along with your meal. Protein powders do not typically high enough in iron to use for an iron deficiency. You should be getting your iron through other better sources. Protein drinks have their place, but I don't know that I would use it as an MRP rather than a supplement following a workout.

Am I reading this right... your taking a protein drink during a fast?... If you have not been eating breakfast since the birth of your baby then it is likely the FAST than is causing the weight gain. You should always have a good breakfast to start the day and that should include but not solely be protein... weather or not that is protein powder is personal preference but breakfast fasting is dangerous in the world of fat loss...

Like LibertyGirl stated, protein powder is not the preferred source of iron in the diet. You should be eating 5-7 small meals a day and if your conscience about what your up to then you will get plenty of iron into your nutritional program and still lose weight.
