The exercise will definately help but you need to mainly look at your diet. Try and cut out processed food, sugars and fizzy drinks. Eat more fruit and vegetables as well and drink plenty of water.

Changing any of your bad habits will show benefits. I'f you're going from doing no activities to slowly doing some and loving the feeling it gives you of course it will help you. You can't cripple yourself with a bad diet tho, slowly change what you're eating, do not go too drastic at first, but slowly decrease all the ''treats'' you eat, drink water or non caloric beverage, eat some vegetable and fruits. More importantly get to know your body and think about what you can change in your lifestyle and work toward making permanent change ;)

Good luck

Hey ya :) Cardio is fantastic for weight-loss if you are sweating you are doing a good job, running, treadmill, cross-rainer at the gym or going out for a run is good for shifting extra pounds & off corse everything else you doing is good, it will help you build muscel x

I have to disagree on that one, cardio is only good for weight loss if you do high intensity interval training or HIIT training as it creates an afterburn affect. Circuit training or metabolic resistance training is by far the best way to lose bodyfat. You dont even need to workout for long, 20 minutes is more than enough. Here is a sample HIIT workout

A High Intensity Interval Training session is best if performed immediatly following your resistance workout routine to get the greatest benefit. In addition to this, a HIIT plan can be performed either outside or on a treadmill in the gym.

If the 20 minutes feels to much, then you can start at 10 minutes and build your way up. The following program will get you fitter faster and help you to start burning up body fat as fuel faster than ever before:

Warmup 5 Minutes

Jog at moderate intensity for 1 Minute

Sprint at high intensity for 1 Minute

Repeat the above process (minus the warmup) 8 times

Cool Down at walking pace for 5 minutes.

If you are performing the HIIT Session on its own then you should be looking to workout for 30 minutes. For best Fat Loss results this needs to be performed at least 3 times per week.

This all goes back to Calories in must be less than Calories used per day. HIIT may be the desired choice by some, while standard "plugging away" on a treadmill will be desired by others. You just need to find what works for you and your schedule. Once you find it.....keep it up.

We are in the quick fix society... Lets find what cures us the fastest and go with that. Losing weight is hard. HARD!!!!! Do the work and you will see the results.

Good luck!

Couldn't agree more with iq_rider.Loosing weight forever is hard, takes time, trial and errors. Quick fixes are,... quick fixes, generaly not ''permanent'' fixes. One starting the ''journey'' to a healthier lifestyle shouldn't have to worry about doing HIIT or this and that and getting too in-depth in training. Let's face it, most of us got FAT because we didn't exercise at ALL, and ate too much and too bad.
