Why won't my abs show.

Hi, y'all probably get this question a lot but I'm 15, 126 pounds, 6 ft and at around 8% body fat. I work out every day and take 2 day breaks inbetween. I do weight lifting, crunches, pull ups, and push ups and day after day the fat around my stomache just seems to keep coming back every morning. I eat well, take in a lot of protein, I don't drink sodas or eat a lot of fat either. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, why won't my muscles show?

Are you doing any kind of high-intensity training to elevate your heart rate, such as cardio work or HIIT? You should be doing some kind of prolonged, constant type of exercise in order to effectively burn fat. Also, how much protein is "a lot" of protein? There's only so much that you actually need. Furthermore, you've cut out sodas, but how is the rest of your added sugar. Fat is actually not the main dietary contributor to body fat. Sugar is.

I do cardio, but what is HIIT? I'm not sure how much protein I take in a day I think it's around 30g. I don't actually know if that's a lot or not.

HIIT just stands for high intensity interval training. And the recommended protein intake is about 1-2g of protein per kg of your body weight. (Keep in mind, this includes both your supplements AND protein from regular food.)

If you're still not losing that fat weight, then that's an indicator that you've reached a plateau in your training. Clearly, there's some factor that needs to be changed, whether it be an extra workout day, a longer cardio session, or some kind of change in your diet.

What else could I add into my routine to help do you think? I run for about 20 minutes and that's usually a good work out for me, and I've been doing these work outs for about a month now.

How do you know you are 8% body fat?? Did you get tested? Tell us what you eat in a typical day. As the saying goes, abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym.

I don't think I'm at that much body fat, personally, it's just what I've been told by my brother (Who is a body builder) and my gramma, I personally think I'm at about 12% body fat, and I'm gonna go get it tested soon so I'll see then. On a typical day I really don't know what I'm gonna eat cause we never really have the same foods in the house. I wake up, have a bowl of frosted flakes, and I don't eat again untill dinner. I usually have a PB&J for lunch if we have the stuff to make one, or I'll have an egg sandwich. And all I drink on a regular basis is milk and orange juice. So, if that's any help, cool.

Yep, there's the problem.

1. You can't go by what anyone tells you what % you look like. They themselves might have no idea, even if they are a body builder.
2. "On a typical day I really don't know what I'm gonna eat"
3. Not enough protein.
