Why is running bad if your trying to gain weight?

cardio is bad during bulking because you will be losing valuable calories that need to be put towards adding muscle. And after 20 minutes or so you can break down muscle I believe.

You can do HIIT which doesn't burn muscle at all, but when bulking limit HIIT to 1-2 times a week with 15-20 minutes.

Cardio can burn into muscle tissue and you can only gain muscle if you are eating in a caloric surplus. So if you are running alot you are going to have to eat even more and could burn into some of that muscle that you have been spending so much time to build.

If still trying to maintain a good cardiovascular system just do some HIIT 2-3 days a week as it shows to be the least harming of cardio training to the muscle but also increases your VO2 Max and decrease your resting heart rate.

Theres a lot of different theories on this mate.
At the moment I am cutting. I do not want to lose any muscle, I just want to lose bodyfat.
I lift weights for around an hour, do 5-10mins abs then I go for a 20min jog on the tredmill. I usually jog at around 8.8km/h and use a varying incline. You want to jog at a pace where you are just out of breathe and are able to speak. You dont want your heart popping out your chest. That would make you fitter but would also start eating away at your muscle.

Ive heard of people who just lift 3 days a week then have a whole session of cardio on the 4th day.
Its just whatever works for you best.
