My BMR is about 1494 calories; I am VERY conscious about my calorie intake and I journal every food I put into my mouth. For 4 weeks my daily total has been 1200 calories. I do 1 hour of Zumba 2 days and a 45-minute kickboxing routine every week, and on off days I do about 30 minutes of strength training.

For the first 2 weeks, I lost 5 pounds. For the last two weeks, I gained a pound.

WHY AM I NOT LOSING WEIGHT???

My clothes don't fit any differently, my measurements are the same. I am feeling extremely frustrated and I am very close go giving up and going back to my old lifestyle since the new one isn't yielding any change.

Hey there!

I know it can be frustrating!

First- to lose 5lbs in 2 weeks is great! That is a healthy weight loss that will stay off.

My guess is that the weight you're gaining is muscle weight- which you want. When you strength train, and even with cardio, you'll be burning fat weight, but also gaining muscle weight. The more muscle you build, the more you will burn when you don't do anything. So it's VERY important that you also gain muscle weight.

keep up what you're doing. I reach a still part after I lost 3 lbs...it took me weeks to lose anything, and then one day i stepped on the scale and I was down a total of 13lbs. It'll come off if you keep eating healthy and exercising!! Oh and drink LOTS of water!!

you also might not be noticing an inches decrease, because you're toning and gaining muscle!

Keep it up- you'll see results!

PS: When are you weighing yourself? Same time every day? I would also recommend doing it in the morning :)

you gota keep at it you can have 1 or 2 weeks when u dont lose but man its made up for in the 3rd week when you see those scales go down.
