Hi there,

I want your views on who are more conscious about their diets and have fears of being overweight, Men or Women. Please have ur say on this.

Thank You
John Green

i think men and women are both equal. people do say oh yeh women would be more consciouse, but some women admit to being happyer after putting on some lbs. also i think a larger women would find it easyer to find a partner.

I think women are more "pressured" to be thin than men and tend to be more self conscious of their appearance in general.

I think in the long run Women are. Particularly wives are pressured to stay the same size while men let themselfs go and they rarely get any grief about it.

LOL Well myself my husband never said a thing to me about my body. It was his mom who finds she must point out the flaws in others to make herself feel better.

But I digress I have known other women who were pressured by their husbands to stay thin. While their husbands ate willy nilly, and had beer guts they could stack their plates on. It's something I have seen over and over. Guys seem to think it is their right to get big, while enjoying a sexy wife who isn't supposed to reflect her age, or the fact that she's had four kids.

One lady I know is 46 or so and has a great body. She’s 5'7" and wears 9s in jeans. She tried to quit smoking, but once her husband seen she put on some weight, he told her to start smoking again. That really ticked me off. So yeah there is some anger there. LOL

Did anyone see the episode of King of Queens...After Carrie put on some weight, Doug tries to trick her into losing a few lbs while he hung out in the gym eating chips?? I think that says it all.

As a whole, I would say women...But it really depends on the person! An immediate family member of mine (who is male) has an eating disorder that spiraled from being too overweight...Now he's too thin! We don't hear much about males who struggle with their weight, but they have a lot of pressure on them too. You see on tv shows bigger men with tiny little women, so it makes us believe men really have no reason to watch their weight...But I bet if I was a man watching women swoon over the ripped guys on Jersey Shore I'd be body conscience too! Lol (Not that I think they're that awesome looking...But men have a certain 'image' the media says they should fit in as well).

So I'm gonna go with women for the most part, but men aren't that far away!
