Which burns more (if either)

Ok, so I have two different workout schedules depending on when my friends can lift.

1) Workout 1
3:30 - Bike 10-20 min warmup then run for 30 min treadmill
Eat dinner 6/7
9:30 - Lift, alternating muscle groups each day.

2) Workout 2
3:30 - Lift, then right afterwards run on treadmill for 30 mins.
Eat Dinner 6/7

Assuming that the lifting, running workouts and dinners are identitical, which do you guys think burns more fat/ produces greater weight loss

Workout 1 or 2? And why? Thanks

Is this a trick question? ;)

Seriously it depends. It depends on you and a host of other things. The routine and food may be the same, but you may workout with a higher intensity at 3:30pm than you would at 9:30pm.

Then again... weights before cardio is generally preferred and recommended for a few reasons.

Then again... when are you eating before 3:30pm.

Then again... are you eating after the 9:30pm workout

See... many ways to look at it. The bottom line is do what you feel is best for you and produces healthy results for you. Do the one that fits in with your schedule. Some people believe a workout is the same at 9am or 9pm. After all a calorie burned is a calorie burned. I tend to agree, but believe it is a bit more complex than that. For example, what order you workout in and when you pre-fuel and re-fuel with foods.
