Whey protein good or bad for you?

Hi. I have decided to start this post after reading a post in another forum saying " stick to natural stuff and your body will thank you for it when your 50" ( in relation to protein shakes.

I have recently started working out and not really used no protein shake yet but i have been thinking about it.

I have tried quinoa shakes which is ok however needs a bit of preparation.

ny first question is : if you dont use a protein shake-or other high protein substance- POST WORKOUT are you damaging your body???

currently post workout i have been having a bannana and some cottage cheese :S lol

Second question is : does anyone know a GOOOD natural protein shake postworkout without the use of whey protein?


Personally, i have been thinking of buying dextrose and protein from myprotein.com. however that quote from the fella "...stick natural your body will thank you for it.." has got me thinking if there is any damage, long term from using these prodcuts.
