Where to start...

A Year and half ago I was at a weight I was happy with. 150 lbs. I had lost 35lbs and was finally really happy with myself. For some silly reason I allowed myself to gain the weight back.

I'm currently at 187lbs and I get sick looking at myself.

I have a vacation planned for the first week of October and I'm getting engaged at the time (so much for secrets ;) ) and I just don't want to be at this unhealthy weight when I should be at my happiest.

I'll need to go dress shopping in December/January and I'm too embarrassed to even think about dresses right now.

The wedding will take place in June of next year and I want to lose about 50-60lbs by then.

I'm currently having a competition with a co-worker right now and she's definitely beating me. I'm down maybe 2 lbs and she's close to 10.

I don't know what to do to actually get off the couch and do something about it. I find myself saying "I'll start tomorrow" nearly everyday.

I have the Leslie Sansone videos that I used to do still laying around the apartment. I also have the Wii so I could play some tennis or something...and yet I just don't. I have smart ones in the freezer and yet I don't eat them.

I'm now at the point where I actually want to do something about the weight, I just hope I can really really stick with it.

I lost the weight originally by doing Atkins---I tried it about a month ago but found it to be really difficult to stick to it---whereas before I did it for about a year. Not sure why exactly it felt so difficult.

I'm thinking I just need to really work out and get physically, I'm not a HUGE eater--I just get off of work late and eat dinner at 10 at night. I need to plan better so that this stops happening.

Sorry for writing such a novel...just wanted to type it out and actually see it in black and white...

So anyways.....here I go

You're on the right path. You know your weak spots and know what you should be doing to get to your goals. Starting is the most difficult. It doesn't have to be a radical change, diving right into your new lifestyle. Perhaps implementing small changes will help make your decisions habit? Start small: instead of eating chips or pretzels, have a banana for a snack; exercise in short increments (like ten minutes just to get started); substitute water for pop. Small changes can yield results. And multiple small changes add up.

I wish you the best on reaching your goal. There is a wealth of information in these boards to assist you on your journey.
