Where do you pack it on?

Hey, folks.

Is your extra weight evenly distributed?
Some of us pack it on all over. For some it goes to our thighs. Some to our bellies. Some of us get batwings and some get fleshier chests/breasts.

For me it's my thighs. No belly and no boobs whatsoever. In fact if the weight were more evenly distributed I think I wouldn't mind carrying a few (healthy) pounds.

The last time I was down to an 'ideal' (published) weight, I still had thick thighs. I was starting to think that it would never come off (spot reduction really was a myth...liposuction anyone?) Then I pushed myself to a slightly lower weight (still a healthy one although on the low side) and ta-da, the thighs thinned out, although I was practically skeletal on top. Not that I minded. Because I'm small busted people tend to guess my weight to be 10-15pounds lower than my actual weight.

I loved the thighs that don't jiggle, but I don't want to look emaciated

Anybody had luck spot reducing?

My weight distributes pretty evenly all over me lol.

In anycase I'm pretty sure spot reduction is a myth.

Cardio exercise takes weight off of you from all over, its just that in some people the way their bodies are the loss is most pronounced in their face, thighs, abdomen or wherever the most at first unlike people like me who have an even loss.

Just the way nature intended for each individual I guess.

Sadly, I tend to agree that it's a myth. I have found the best overall exercise for me is powerwalking. (I'm in my 40s and am afraid to wreck my knees so I jog sparingly). The long walks I've been doing for years now have kept my tummy down and I never had luck doing gym routines. I love walking though. So, it's just as they say...find an exercise you love and you'll stick to it and I guess reap the benefits.

Have you tried doing some resistance training? That would increase your upper bodies size some. Might even you out. Just a thought.

Good luck.

Oh yeah, the spot training is a myth!!

Later!!

I'm like you Precious, the weight goes mostly in my thighs (and hips). Even when I was underweight, I still had big thighs. :(

I like your thinking. I'm trying to get up the nerve to find a personal trainer who would help me build up some chest muscles. Is there a way to build up chest muscles without getting big arms and shoulders?

hey!

Well im one of this lucky girls where it all goes to the chest with a perfectly toned belly  NOT ive got small boobs a wide yet flat butt chunky top of my arms and i would say a big belly! lol the only thing i dont mind is my legs

Hahaha...you almost got me there. I started reading, thinking, oh, yeah, right, nice, rub it in why don't you... But I do appreciate your sense of humour!

I think we all have something that we don't like about ourselves and chances are, we are more critical of ourselves than we should be. Would you say that's true?

By the way, nice legs are very cool to have--so you're lucky! I'm working on getting mine to look as good as they used to.
