Where do you guys find...

....the Drive, the Motivation, the Inner strength to hit the gym or workout on a regular basis???

I used to be in great shape. I used to be a very active person. But recently at 25 I put those things aside to and focused on my career. I have been in airline training for 3 months. Eating fastfood, staying up late memorizing everything, flying simulators all night long, studying, studying and more studying. Not taking care of my self physically because time didn't permit it. I am not fat by any means, but certainly not in shape for the sports I like to partake in. (skiing, running, surfing, kayaking, hiking, wakeboarding, etc.)

Now I am finally done and I am on the road 4 days a week living in hotels. I have plenty of time now.

I have tried to ease back into working out. But a lot of time I get to the hotel and it is so tough to get off my a$$ and go work out. Today I went running and felt really out of shape. Could only jog/walk 2 miles panting. It worries me since I have heart disease in my family history :(

What do you guys do to stay motivated and keep your eye on the prize>? Any tips to getting back into shape on the road??

I dont think you can use this, but because I'm a young athelete, my drive comes from my desire to start on Varsity and then on to college.....in all honesty, It's not gonna happen (the college part), but I choose to believe that if I do work hard enough, then I may have a chance.

You need to have self-motivation when it comes to lifting and dieting in my opinion. You shouldn't lift for no one; not for your family, not for chicks (well...maybe), not for your dog, You should lift to better yourself. Once I got this mindset going (recently) I have been having better workouts and drive.

and I learned this too. Dont' let anyone put you down either. Once you meet a goal put it higher; but make your goals short and realistic.

Theres research that shows those who workout tend to be more successful. Research shows that if you got instead of 8hrs of sleep you got 7hrs and an 1hr of exercise you would tend to be more productive. So look at it this way, if you get into a good workout routine and diet, you will be a more productive person, i also have to study all the time (med school) and I am much more productive.
