When you reach your goal weight, how do you stop losing weight?

I hit my goal weight of 65kgs a few weeks ago but am now down to 60kgs because I am clueless when it comes to maintaining a steady weight.

I am confused as to whether I am supposed to cut back on exercising or whether I am supposed to just increase my food intake? I don't really want to stop exercising as much because it makes me feel fit and strong and happy, so I can only assume I need to increase my food intake - but how? Am I supposed to eat food that is higher in fat, or am I supposed to keep eating healthy food but just increase the amount of food I am eating each day?

Yep, I'm very confused! And I need to figure it out soon before I lose enough weight to entirely disappear! Anyone out there have any advice for me? Thanks :)

Hi,

Its really preference when it comes to food, but I would stick with foods that are nutritious. You can eat fatty food like avocado, fish, olive oil, and still get nutrition.. you don't have to throw cookies into your diet to keep your weight :)...

Try adding some protien shakes into your routine after your workout, it will help re-build the muscle that you are working out. You WILL not lose weight forever... your body will eventually stabalize, and you will be at that weight.

At the moment I have 1 protein shake per day but I don't think it would do any harm to throw another one in there! Thanks for the advice :)

i think you always have to be ready to diet when you reach your goal because you could always put on weight and you dont want to go back to how u was.

I think the main thing would be to add more calories to your diet, but obviously in a healthy way! You're at the point now where everyone wants to be.... you can have more of the foods that you've probably been staying away from! You have a lot more wiggle room now to have some of those 'treat' foods, just make sure all of your extra calories don't come from these foods :)
