When to change routine

Ive read and people say you should be switching you excersises, or rep/sets almost every week. its been about a month 1/2 that ive been working out, doing the same excersises and such, but im still seing improvements. Should i still switch it up, or wait till i plateu. my gains have only come in forms of weight, i havent seen any visual gains yet. its still pretty early but idk if that could have something to do with it.

id wait until I platued rather than waste time with a change. I change mine every two months or so rather than too often.

I think this is because Im a routine orientated trainer but alot of people switch alot just to maintain interest

yeah, personally i just use alot of varaity in my workout so i dont platau as quickly. If you do the same 3 workouts week inn and week out, you could plateau pretty quick. But like Evo said, dont fix it if it aint broke. So wait until your gains stop.

The main reason for changing a workout is to not plateau. If you don't seem to be hitting one, then don't worry about it. I would think if you a(start getting bored and losing momentum or b)see a slow in increases, then you should change. Although, I wouldn't recommend sticking to the same routine forever.

Not everyone's body adapts at the same rate, so not everyone should change routines at the same time.

I have just started 3 different workouts a week.

e.g flat bench on mon, incline bench on wed, db bench on fri.
incline pullover on monday, flat pullover on wed, straight arm pullover on fri

etc etc.

This way I won't get used to the same evercise

Don't fix it if it aint broke.
I absolutely agree with this. If it's working for you and if you're still working hard at it (i.e., you're not bored by it), then I say keep it up!

When I was younger, I switched up pretty frequently. I noticed, though, that sometimes a change here or there pulled me out of a routine that was working for me, and I subsequently found it hard to get back into that working routine. So I've learned to make big changes when I have to and if I'm feeling bored by something, I introduce smaller but effective changes. That just works for me in terms of results and maintaining enthusiasm.
