When my back "goes out"

Hehe, I know it kinda sounds like it is leaving without me, but sometimes it really feels like it does. Ever since I had my son, my labor was really bad and I had ALOT of lower back labor, because the baby was pushing on my spine. Ever since, it does not matter what I am doing my back will go out at the flick of a switch over something as little as bending over to put down a plate of food for the dog. My question is what exercies are good to strengthen your back so that it is less likely to go out on me??

I know what your going through. I have three herniated disks in my lower back.

The best thing is to use your knees when you bend. To protect your back, strengthen your abs and stretch your back muscles. Lay on your back and pull your knees to your chest. This will stretch your lower back.

If you do some research, you can find other stuff you can use to keep your back in shape.

Also strengthen you back muscles. A full core training program would be recommended.

An easy answer would be to do pilates, very simple and fun. Do squats and lunges so that bending over is something you train your body to do (and this may seem silly, but sometimes I lift up one leg and keep my weight on another, so I don't fully bend the back, but do a leg lift instead. It seems to make it easier, just make sure you alternate which leg you balance on... I can't remember where I heard this advice originally... but it helps my back...)
