Hi im Karl.

Im a 28 year old 6'3 350lb newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic, with hypertension and high LDL cholesterol levels and low HDL. I was diagnosed back in july and although Ive managed to lose 50 pounds so far this year, im looking to speed up the weight loss process by completely turning up the intensity and dedication as the meds that they have me on are killing me! I felt better when i was literally dying! Ive been looking around the internet the last couple of days for a good health and fitness/weight loss community to keep me focused and motivated, after looking around i think ive found the right place!

MY 5 MONTH GOALS ARE
Drop 50lbs by april
lower my LDL
raise my HDL
lower my blood pressure
get off of the Lantus needle and oral medication.
 
Welcome to the bored... kinda suck when u realize u need to loose weight when u find out your killing yourself.. i understand about the diabetes thing that's why i started my dad was diagnosed with it about 14 years ago almost died because of it and i realized that i don't want to go threw what he did.. good luck and keep it up first thing is diet "don't go on a diet" u need to change your eating habits.. i have and feel great.. then start a workout routine i kidna did my own thing for a month and jsut started my first week of body for life witch i like..
 
thanx for the reply and welcome, yeah it does suck, especially when i think about the fact that all i had to do was watch what i ate and get off of my ass and be active for atleast 3o minutes a day and all of this would have been avoided. But now that i know about the type 2 diabetes, my change of diet has done wonders for my weight! i must have dropped 25lbs just by avoiding sodas and white bread!
