hey everyone, just after a bit of advice.
i started a diet of 1200 calories per day and light exercise as i want to shift a bit of weight.

starting weight- 131 pounds.
after 3 days i was down 3 pounds
and now on day 4 ive put on a pound.

so ive lost 2 pounds in 4 days.
is this normal? my body seems to have yo-yo'd?

i mean i am really happy that ive lost that weight...just a bit worried really as its been so quick!

any advice/idea what the hell is going on would be appreciated!

yup. There are alot of factors like water. you might have lost 2 pounds on the scale but not likely 2 pounds of fat.

Yes

Agreed Jericho.
I actually watched a video the other day. A girl got on the scale and they showed how much she weighed. Then they showed her drinking 2 cups of water, and she gained a whole pound when she was on the scale again. It was in real time, so no tricks.
It was interesting to see and it reminds you that numbers arent everything.

sounds like your weighing yourself everyday, thats not really a good idea because it starts to get you obsessed with the numbers which isn't really important, its the measurements that matter.
plus your weight is going to naturally go up n down throughout the week, if you weigh yourself everyday you'll be worrying about weight gain that really isnt there, its just your bodys water retention.
its better to weigh yourself the same day every week or two instead

When to weight yourself depends in large part on your experience with weight loss and your ability to look at the numbers objectively. Just starting it may be a good idea to look at it on a weekly basis so you can get a better idea of your weight loss trend. Your weight fluctuates a lot during the day depending on what you eat, what you drink, how often you go to the bathroom, what kind of physical activities you engage in throughout the day, and other factors. Do not stress because you went up 1 pound in a day or down 3 pounds in 3 days, your body is going to go up and down in small amounts like that all the time, it's the overall loss you want to focus on. Your body may fluctuate 3 pounds over the course of the day for that matter.

Once you have a good idea of your weight loss trends and can look at the numbers more objectively without worrying then you should be fine with daily weigh-ins. You will then be able to take the information about how your body fluctuates throughout the day and apply that in a healthier way that doesn't stress you out.
